Don't post in this thread to say "gay gamers are like everyone else, why do they have a special thread?" It is something that has been posted numerous times, and this isn't the place for that discussion.

For regular posters, don't quote the trolls.

I am gay and my favorite color is green...although, I think that it has more to do with the fact that I have red hair rather than my sexuality :p My favorite color has been green since as long as I can remember. So what does green say about my personality?

Great thread. Have read the first dozen pages and just wanna say:

Hi! I'm gay as well. And I like Starcraft. And I think Koreans are cute.

Nothing much to add.

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention to all those people asking who are the hot Korean sc players lol. (Straight people always ask such funny questions when it comes to knowing more about the gay community lol). As many have said, jaedong is handsome. Nada is really cute too.

And a side note - I think stork is gay haha.

And greasy hair.

The main thing I look for in a guy is their hair - whether it's washed and conditioned well, if it's not I get pretty pissy. Good hair = good personality in my opinion. :D

What is the social dynamic like between gay guys in clubs as far as approaching each other? Do ultra physically attractive gay men stand around and wait to be approached the way hot girls do in bars? I imagine the dynamic is much easier and that "everyone is in the same boat"...but i don't know :3

I am interested in this as well. From my very limited experience visiting gay bars making contact was incredibly easy. Make eye contact, (nod), move over to their table / spot, engage in conversation.
However, most of the guys I talked to quickly realized I am straight so I am wondering if my initial behavior was off or if that came across during the following conversation.

Too bad I didn't get to go to the TL dinner would have loved to actually get to know Mora beyond that 5 second Hi!.

Yeah, i was planning on saying a larger hello at the IEM party. Unfortunately i got distracted.

I must visit again soon! (and plan to do so)

edit - ah! you'd be a good person to ask, since you didn't know me in person beforehand.

Do i strike you as gay? Does my speech or mannerisms give me away?

I am curious. What was your initial 5 second impression of me?

Well without having any idea how you look like I immediately knew it was you. You happen to look very similar to the only other gay guy I ever got to know. So you fit my preconceived image perfectly, but that can be more attributed to my very limited knowledge and experience with gay people than you appearing gay to others I am sure.

Great thread and very interesting. To this day I still don't know a single (openly) gay person so this is great to read for me.

For the record, that's not being "gay" or homosexual, its a bisexual who has commited a homosexual act. Which to me just says he can't make up his mind and likes sex in general. Kinda nullifies the "I'm born gay, its just how I'm wired" argument.

Also, being straight and taking a logical, planned, intellectual approach to procreation aren't mutually exclusive, nor is the discussion of heterosexual reproductive prudence particularly relevant to the topic of homosexuality, its a red herring, so stop.

I'm a very straight person but if the fate of the world depended on me donating sperm or screwing a guy then I wouldn't be so proud as to not do either of them. I whole-heartedly disagree that procreation couldn't always take a smart well thought out approach. You're bringing a child into the world. Not buying a video game.

I remember watching a program one time where a gay guy was talking about how much easier it is to get laid when you're gay. It's as simple as giving a guy a look at a coffee shop and then getting blown in the bathroom. Is that true? I mean the guy was from Frisco and all in one of the more gay neighbourhoods. But it makes sense to me. Guys aren't necessarily hornier but they definitely have less hangups about sex. They're open about it, it's not a big deal, you just wanna empty your balls now and then etc.

Given that AIDs spreads "easier" in gay communities, I wouldn't really want to believe that.

While I don't care if people are gay or not, I absolutely can't stand flamboyant ones.

This is a really unfortunate attitude. Many, many effeminate guys wish they could act differently. It's just how they are. I also had a very effeminate straight male friend in college. He sat, walked, and talked like the girliest girl that ever was, and he was 100% straight.

But anyway, seriously, please do get over this attitude. Even if it's a consciously cultivated behavior - and sometimes it is - who are you to judge? Is it fucked up and weird that you choose to perform the role of straight male so well? What's wrong with a guy, whether he chooses it or not, who behaves differently from normal?

In fact, isn't it awesome and laudable when someone behaves the way that feels right to them, even if society would want otherwise? I'm not really effeminate at all, but I respect the guys that have the courage to act and dress how they want to no matter what anyone thinks.

If you're a hot guy that can chat people up anywhere, sure it is. But then hot, charming straight guys don't have any problem being sluts either. If you're shy and nerdy or too skinny or too fat or you can't afford nice clothes, meeting people is still tough.

And of course, you may or may not want to be a slut. I never really have. I've tried kind of casual sex a couple times, and it's never very good for me. The best sex I've ever had has been in the context of a committed relationship, especially with my current boyfriend, who I think is the one for me.

Firstly, grats on being in a good relationship and I feel the same way about the whole sluttyness deal. Tried it once and the girl tried to implicate that she was drunk and didn't remember anything happening to my friends so that she wouldn't be seen as a whore (I guess she slept with a couple other people like earlier in the week -_-) but I'm lucky because my friends trusted me implicitly.

I don't think he is really hurting anyone by being bothered (in general) by flamboyant behavior. It is a very over the top behavior the vast majority of the time. Not liking it or being annoyed by it can be likened to hating the socal girl, the super jock, the ultra wow raider (lol), etc. If he is disliking them because he feels they are flaunting there sexuality then this shouldn't be something to scrutinize either imo as long as he feels the same way towards straight women and men. I know that there is definitely a line for most people. I would really only say that he needs to remember that not all people who act flamboyant will bother him as there is an exception to every rule and that I hope that he isn't truly bothered by it because it is a reminder that they are gay where as a non-flamboyant gay person he could simply pretend that they weren't.

That's my two cents lol.

the whole genetic/reproduction debate is misleading, many attributes are transmitted recessively. you can be hetero (dominant) and still have it in your genetic code
Before you judge sth, keep in mind that the less you know about sth, the more that what you think or pretend to know about it, it says about yourself and your environment.

This thread is just amazing, I think TL is now the greatest forum ever :p

On topic: I have a question here, how do the gay community feel about metrosexuals? Do they even acknowledge it as a sexuality? Clearly the spellchecker doesn't.

From what I've seen and experienced gay guys tend to be more slutty than heterosexuals. It's still not correct for me to say this because It's my own opinion and it isn't based on factual evidence.

So if you have some factual evidence to support YOUR claim I'd like to hear about it.

I could say the same thing your saying about straight guys.
from what I have seen and experienced straight guys are more violent and judgmental than homosexuals. how do you rebuke that?

The reason people (particularly straight people) think that gay guys are flamboyant or slutty, is because those are the ones you notice, those are also the ones who want to be noticed, they are also the ones the media like to depict as the Token gay guy. you have probably passed by hundreds or thousands of other gay people who you didn't realize were gay BECAUSE they aren't making that their defining quality, and they aren't "gay acting" .... the only reason people think all gay guys are Queens is because it's a safe stereotype that makes you think you can tell who's gay and who isn't (which by the way you can't, no one can anymore, not even us gay guys). there are gay contractors, doctors, firefighters, policemen, stuntmen, politicians etc.. but if they aren't screaming queens people aren't even aware these people are gay. and to say gay men are more slutty than straight guys is a fuckin joke! ever been to a college bar after hours??? ever been to a frat/sorority party? ever been on the Bud light Party cruise? all it's about is SEX and alcohol. Men are men, straight, gay, bi, whatever. men are all about sex no matter who they wanna sleep with. Thats an fact of human nature.
I suggest (if you even care), that you expand your horizons beyond drive by's of gay bars at closing time or looking in the window of a salon, and do some research, in my area there are a few gay football leagues and even a gay rugby team who are so good that they play in straight tournaments and sometimes win.
Just because we don't scream it to the world in glitter and feathers doesn't mean we aren't gay too.
you just have to stop trying to identify us by our "markings" we aren't birds.

If you, or anyone else is interested, there's an amazing book called "The Ethical Slut." It discusses a lot of issues surrounding society's views on sex and partner selection.

As a society we've got a massive collective boner for the whole lifetime monogamy thing. There are other options out there without being a shitty person, regardless of what you hear/read in pop culture. Or maybe I'm just a perv, who knows, lol.
I admire your commitment to being *very* oily
