Been having knee trouble for the past couple years (working on fixing btw). I'm currently ~135-137, and my DL last time I tested was 285. It's not great but considering I got it within a few sessions isn't too bad. Looking to hopefully be able to get it up to 350 or more by the end of the year. Don't need squat for what I'm working on. Mostly DL/sprinting/plyo/etc. focus. On March 15 2010 16:52 RowdierBob wrote: Can't you just walk around in the sun for Vit D rather than buying supplements? Yes, but it's the winter and not all of us live in tropical climates. Plus, most of us are inside a lot so...

I literally can only lift about only half as much right with my right bicep than I can with my left bicep, this was never the case before, infact i think right was my stronger arm, should I be worried about an injury or just give it rest and hope it'll fix itself?

Probably something about the nerves in your arm. Did you maybe do too much volume or trained too often? If so, I wouldn't worry too much and maybe just give it a rest for a couple of days.

However, I am not so comfortable with the programm. I don't like going for heavy singles and doubles too much. I basically sacrificed my Squat form for those heavy singles, and often barely broke parallel. Additionally, with the alternation of the intensity workouts, it is not always clearcut what you should be aiming for. Therefore, I will start Madcows-Bill Starr 5x5 variation this week. I have read extensively about the programm. Everything in this programm is very well outlined, it is always clear how much you should lift at any given time. That's a good thing for me, for disciplinary reasons^^ Progress in Texas Method was quite good though: End of 2009 --> Today (in kg) Squat: 145x4 --> 160x5 (185x2, very bad form) Deadlift: 130x3 --> 170x5 (partly because of using chalk now) Bench: 100x3 --> 110x4 (looks ok, but in reality it sucked for the last four weeks) Overhead: 50x5 --> 70x5 (80x2) Power Clean: --- --> 85x2 Overall, I am pretty satisfied. Weightloss could have been a bit better, but it is getting better since I use Fitday.

What are you goign to use vert for? It may be more applicable to lose weight first depending on your goals/sports? Odd... anymore details? Could be overworking or a pinched nerve or something. If you have insurance you may want to get that evaled. Anymore info you can provide?

Last night, I sprained my ankle playing intramural sports, some..rotund fellow fell into my foot, it externally rotated and I heard several pops from my ankle. This morning, it hurt like a total bitch, I went to have it looked at, the whole shindig. However, a few minutes ago, I was sitting at my desk when I moved my foot in a manner that caused a giant crack from my ankle, more like when you stretch your back after you wake up than the pops I heard initially when it sprained. Since then, the pain is almost completely gone...it was agonizing up until that point. What the fuck has happened? Did I invent a cure for sprained ligaments by cracking my ankle? Do I have Wolverine's healing properties? Is it just the ibuprofen blocking the pain, and I'm going to wake up in the middle of the night crying?

Plyometrics, if you had/have some tendonitis will tear you up. Although I suppose since you don't have any now and correctly limit volume you can definitely do that. You definitely want to keep your weight if you're playing competitive bball as long as it's not mostly fat mass. It's like if you tore several ligaments (the inital popping) it's likely that your ankle bones were partially subluxed/dislocated. It's likely that with the cracking they moved back into correct position. Unfortunately, you didn't invent a cure. However, you should definitely be RICE-ing and taking anti-inflammatories especially if there's a lot of swelling.

I did get it looked at professionally this morning, they even X-rayed the ankle to make sure there was no break..wouldn't they have caught any dislocation at that point?

From the information you gave it's likely that something was somewhat out of place and popped back into place. That's all I can say. It's likely on the X-ray but if they could see it is another question.

As long as you are eating fruits and vegetables you will be getting as much fiber as you need. Secondly, eliminating bread does not make you no carb. Lots of other things have carbs in them.... such as the aforementioend fruits and vegetables... In fact, anything you drink that's not water besides maybe coconut milk is going to have carbs in them.
