Any insight would be great

Why do you need to take fiber supplements? As long as you are eating fruits and vegetables you will be getting as much fiber as you need.

Secondly, eliminating bread does not make you no carb. Lots of other things have carbs in them.... such as the aforementioend fruits and vegetables... In fact, anything you drink that's not water besides maybe coconut milk is going to have carbs in them.

nono, i understand that, im eating bananas and grapefruit for fruits and taking a multivitamin. i just wondered if I was doing something unhealthy, heh

Hey if anyone wants advice on how to gain muscle, let me know. I used to bodybuild a year ago, and I plan to start doing it again. I have vast amounts of knowledge on how to gain muscle, and a bit on how to lose weight. Feel free to ask for advice.

Going to construct a 300caloriex6 daily meal plan and see how my brain/body copes with the lack of calories while @ work.

If I start to go insane I will have to reconsider!!

Nice one, I still can't get myself to get back onto a cut diet, but I did decide today to stop drinking for a while.

Doing that, but with dumbells, would probably be a better way to bring the weak bicep up to par.

Getting back into the swing of things, going to try to hit the gym everyday. Did squats/legs for the first time in like 2.5 weeks, tomorrow is gonna suck. last set i barely got 3x345, down from 4x365
New goals for by May
Squat: 425
Deadlift: 450+
Bench: 300
And also work a lot of my fitness for rugby. Not sure how far my lifts have fallen in the last 5 weeks. Time to start eating right again, but i usually eat better on days i work out because i feel like i'm screwing myself out of gains if i eat poorly when i lift.
how reasonable is it to eat off wood instead of your tummy?

^^ Thanks. It's going to be a tough ride so I'll probably be looking here in this thread for inspiration frequently. It's a good feeling to "know" how much of what I'm eating (calories, protein) so that I KNOW that I don't need to eat any more than what I've planned to.

I had gotten pretty darn good at eating "good stuff" this year but the quantity was far too big, so this is the natural next step!

can anyone recommend me some safe vert jump exercises that don't require gym access, i downloaded the 'air alert' dvd but i'm concerned about what a high rep program like that would do to my knees since i weigh ~220

I would say plyometrics and sprinting but you're heavy... what sports do you play? What are you goign to use vert for?

It may be more applicable to lose weight first depending on your goals/sports?
i play basketball, my goals are to dunk/rebound/contest shots better. it's true i would jump better if i weighed less but i'm 6'4 so i probably couldn't get much lower than 200 anyway and that's still heavy. i'd like to gain 5-6" on my vert, currently i'm at 25"ish off a step

i've never had a knee injury but last year i had a little tendonitis from running too much and too hard on pavement (dumb). i just want to be very careful since i assume my knees take more punishment than a lighter guy's would and don't need it haunting me in 30yrs

Well, at your weight lifting heavy is the best option.

Plyometrics, if you had/have some tendonitis will tear you up. Although I suppose since you don't have any now and correctly limit volume you can definitely do that.

You definitely want to keep your weight if you're playing competitive bball as long as it's not mostly fat mass.

I was wondering about a vert jump program if I weren't as heavy, say 5' 10" and 150 lbs. I'm lifting with the starting strength program and was thinking about adding a pyro program when I start to plateau with my lifts. It would be for playing Ultimate Frisbee.

I was also wondering if you had a protein/whey powder supplement that you particularly recommended or if they are all about the same. I'm pretty sure I'm not getting enough protein because my dining hall tends to cheap out on meat.

I use muscle milk because i can get it at costco and its worked pretty well so far. In addition for that i usually eat peanut butter, a lot of milk, turkey sandwhiches, and the caf usually has some sort of chicken/fish/beef.

More or less this...

It's much cheaper to just eat whole foods like such milk, eggs, etc.

But if you really wanted to buy some whey you can just get some of the "cheap" 5 or 10 lbs tubs and take it PWO...

What do you guys think of adding in coconut oil in a diet? I've read many articles and fitness forum threads regarding how coconut oil can help lose weight. I plan on testing it out for myself to see if it actually works. I already work out 3-4 days for at least 1 hour and 15 minutes while eating mainly veggies and fish/meat.

Guys, I signed up for my first ever 10k, I do not run and never have but I've always worked out and conditioned for basketball. So far I'm have a great workout schedule consisting of running daily, lifting and doing sprints to get my overall sped up. The 10k is called "Cleveland Rite-Aid marathon" It is on May 17th and I still have to get into better shape since I not only want to finish under 1 hour but also want to win, I probably won't win it since there are marathon runners in it that are doing it at full sprint... FOR 6.2 MILES THEY WILL SPRINT... crazy bastards!!
Why would you ever choose failure, when success is an option.
