One of the powerlifters was telling me some kid inquired as to why he wasn't seeing more results on the football field from all his lifting (bench heavy) "Well you don't play football lying down do you?" Lolz
Had a fucking awesome work out today Got a couple singles @ 115kg for cleans! Was just adding weight cause it kept feeling good. Then my buddy told me i was about to do 120kg and i think it kind of threw me off. The pull felt great but i didn't get a good catch. I'll get it another day. Then did snatches. Did a lot more warming up on my shoulders and i was able to get the bar above my head in the "slot" a lot easier. Was doing full squat snatches up to 75 and it felt too easy even at the bottom of my squat. I ended up getting power snatches at 80 and 85kg(10-15kg higher than previous high :D ) I feel like i could pull all fucking day. Loving it. I don't understand how you got so monstrous though dimsum, i can't even imagine attemping a 90kg snatch with 50-60 less pounds of bodyweight. fucking unreal man. I'm coming for you though! Can't wait to hit a bw snatch and 1.5bw clean I should probably start working on clean&jerk now that i'm pretty happy with my clean form.
Pretty decent workload, could probably get more ez. I haven't deadlifted since maxing out at 455 a couple weeks ago, hopefully my cleans and snatches are helping my dl's lol
I personally enjoyed this video about trying to outexercise a poor diet:
The guy eating the pizza is the maker of the eat stop eat program, which suggests fasting 1-2 days a week. This video may be an extreme case, but it goes show how important diet is in weight loss.
Eshlow, have you read anything solid about coconut oil and general health? Also, I'm wondering how coconut oil can help with acne; I've read a lot of anecdotal reports that using it as a skin ointment and also ingesting it does wonderful things.

While I do agree with the premise of the video pretty strongly, the video itself is nonsense. You can consume calories much more quickly than you can burn them, who knew! Thats pretty much common sense. Title is a little misleading though because you can still have a damn shitty diet even if you're heavily restricting calories; and you'll still lose weight. You probably won't feel very good and your performance will suffer, but you would be losing weight.

Yeah, pizza isn't the best obv but makes a good point.
Coconut in general is healthy.
Not sure about helping with acne... maybe. Heard it works as a sunscreen to keep us from getting sunburned but dont know about that either.
As a food its great. I try to eat some every morning/night because its a good way to get some healtyh kcals as fat
At this point, I decided that I should probably stop, even though I was still pumped as fuck. That 405 felt like nothing. I'm coming, decaf.
why would u stop???
Because 405 is my current max, and it seemed like I shouldn't push too hard; I was kinda worried that the supplement was hiding my perception of pain or something :p Next time though, I ain't stoppin',
Just make sure you keep your back flat...still feeling this fucking slipped SI joint
Thought i was going to take it easy today especially considering i got 2 hours of sleep last night for no reason (not tired though wtf?) So of course i see a squat rack and get a boner and end up doing 10x225 8x240 260 290 320 345 all ATG pow pow Also maxed out my bench at 285 today...i think this is the third time i've been here. Some freak accident will happen setting my bench back to 225 T_T Pretty exhausted from those squats so just did a couple sets of dips/pull ups and planks.
Coconut oil is amazing and extremely good for you. I use it as my sole cooking oil for making eggs/meat/vegetables. It's also great to put some on a bag of microwaved vegetables, add some salt and seasoning and go!
As for the acne thing: I have heard it can be good for your complexion because it has a lot of anti-inflammatory properties. Have you tried sleeping on a clean pillowcase every night? I've heard miracle stories about this and acne.

This, definitely, or try laying down a clean towel every night over your pillow

Or don't eat any processed foods or refined sugars, and take fish oil
Also, I sleep on my back so I doubt my pillowcase would mess with my acne. It really seems to be a gluten allergy considering the patterns of getting breakouts.
Right now I'm 100% in the process of eliminating gluten from my diet.
it looks pretty good, Id say go just a smidge deeper and I like to finish a bit more with my hips. I've recently been enjoying the "go as low as you can" approach so I don't worry about it lol. just lift with unreasonable confidence and go hard
well i think i found something in the SS wiki that could be improved...
it's about the squatting on a block thing. iirc the ss wiki basically states you shouldn't ever squat with a block under your heels and to stretch your hammies instead. the underlying assumption here is that you keep squatting while stretching your hammies, presumably rounding your back in the process since flexibility isn't an overnight endeavour
soo that's what i've been doing (come to think of it i could have been squatting above parallel without rounding my back too, but that's replacing one problem with another..) 2 workouts ago, felt a sharp pain during squat warmups (!) in lower back. i can tell the difference between my body going "ahh, painful but i'm gonna grow" and "ahh, keep doing that and i'll break!" and it was the latter one i'm sure it's my hammies being their usual inflexible selves since i took one workout off squats, and did today's on a block. no pain whatsoever, and hopefully it doesn't come back. i'm still stretching my hammies several times a day of course but until i can get flexibility to go below parallel without any rounding whatsoever im gonna keep squatting on a block.
imo ss wiki should say 'if you dont have flexibility in your hammies to squat below parallel without rounding your back, stretch your hammies and squat on a block or lifting shoes w raised heel in the meantime' my newbie 2c. confirm/deny?
