Please remember that while this thread is for QQ and venting about the game, racism is not tolerated here on LD. |

Just pick something like Lich+Doom or Lich+Necro for offlane and Spectre wont be a problem. People that go like solo offlane Void or something that can't really pressure the lane vs a Spectre deserve to lose (not saying you guys do, but you get the idea).
As in real life, problems doesn't just disapear, you have to deal with them.

As in real life, problems doesn't just disapear, you have to deal with them. Pressuring Spectre early on is easy - magically turning your allies into competent players who understand how to play against Spectre come mid-game, on the other hand, is not so easy.

Yeah. Because somehow asking your teammates to be at full health when there's a Spectre and Zeus on the other team is too much to ask for. Go back to the fountain and heal please.
Ok nvm, you're dead.
FML.

If you're a squishy support that spec and zeus can kill with their ults, don't be alone on the map. That's "understanding how to play against spectre". Go base if she can kill you. If you don't, she'll send you there anyway and get her radi doing it.
The hero is bullshit strong in pubs, I don't disagree, but squishies who feed her and then go "what else am I supposed to do?" are a major factor contributing to her bullshitness.
Also void is a much stronger laner than you guys are giving him credit for. He can win solo vs spec+1 if he's good or a bashlord, and he's at least as valid in a cancer dual lane as doom. Veno/lich/jak/silencer+void is super scary.

The difference here being that you can suck and still win a lane as Lich+Necro, whereas you probably need to be somewhat competent to do the same with Void (instead of Necro). Necro also has the added benefit of being a strong pusher which also makes Spectres life even worse. There's one thing beating Spectre in lane, but you also need to use that advantage to get total map control asap, Void doesn't do that as well as Necro, Doom just to name a few. With that said, I don't mean that Void can't handle beating Spectre, I just feel there are other alternatives that does it better.

Honestly, any time i feel like a need a win, i play offlane necro and just shut their safelane down. Plus Aghs can literally just win you the game out right. Have like 65% win rate with necro. lol

Question: Why are mid players almost always arrogant pieces of shit? I'm not supposed to pull you 2 tangos, when I am solo support, and there is a riki in the enemy team. Fuck you.

People just do not understand that that early 125 gold isnt going to kill them. especially if you are someone like Zeus, Just spam the wave a couple of times and you have your gold back you lazy punks!
My QQ, Played like shit on DS a game and cost our team a win. It sucks when you know that its you bringing everyone down.

Slark is a really fun and interactive hero to play against. I enjoy never being able to kill a carry that also outputs huge early game damage.
I also really enjoy shitty invokers still managing to win games.
Yea every game today just was full of meta heros. I can't wait for another major on this horrible patch.

Two RD games in a row with no enchant counter in the pool, zzz great. In fact she's a lot like broodmother in a lot of ways. I remember when it was quite an achievement to roll a game with enchant, needed a bit of luck with starting creeps, some micro and some coordination with the laner when you ganked.

I think spectre pickers are also baby ragers 90% of the time and will blame the team when the oppnents drarfted an aggro offlane. But yeah, muted mid spamming "I will purhase tangoes" are annoying as fuck, specially with the mass ping follow up.

A Public Match-Making Boy's Humble Plea to Future Team Mates
Dear Iван, Stefan, Hans, Lucas or whichever lovely name your parents gave you, welcome to our team. Defense of the Ancients II is a team game in which communication with your allies is at times crucial. More importantly, though, is your attitude. While you may have searched a game because you were bored and you were just looking to fuck around, running at people, screaming, dieing and seeking catharsis for your general frustrations with life by getting mad at your team mates, please, for the love of God and all that is holy, consider that some of us queue to actually play the game.
If you did queue to play the game, acquire Match-Making Rating points, improve, impress your friends, and what not, please keep in mind that flaming and blaming in-game serve no constructive purpose. At the end of the day, DotA is a complex game and even for professional players who have played with each other in a team environment for a long time being on the same page about rotations, how to engage, item choices etc can be a challenge. You may disagree with how your team mate is playing; you may even believe that particular team mate's poor decision making or execution is losing you the game - however, heed the wisdom of Marcus Aurelius*:
God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change; Courage to change the things I can, And wisdom to know the difference.
While you can offer polite suggestions, please realize that getting mad will only serve to cloud your mind and will result in you playing worse. If you do get mad, please consider not expressing your anger, lashing out at your allies - most likely that will result in them getting mad as well, wasting attention trying to defend themselves. Just try your best to keep your head in the game.
So far, so good. A kind and focused attitude goes a long way.
Here's a little wish list of mine for in-game specifics:
Drafting | Picking Heroes:
Before even queuing, please educate yourself about how the game works. Watch professional games, good players' streams, study replays or VODs. Pick something that makes sense. There are a lot of ways to play your favorite heroes without ruining people's games! Stacking with friends of yours who do not mind you fucking around, playing with bots, playing unranked, etc.
Mechanics & Game Understanding:
Mouse precision, map awareness, keyboard mastery, last-hitting, denying, cancelling animation backswing, paying attention to frontswing, paying attention to which direction your hero is facing, paying attention to your hero's turn-rate; in short paying attention to how the game works. Educate yourself!
Tactics (Engagements) & Strategy (Game Plan):
Again, educate yourself! Do not just queue without having thoughts about these things thoroughly!
All in all. Just. Contribute to making DotA great.
Thank you --

When the game goes great but your team starts feeding 800 gold kills, by getting picked off alone, and complain about no team fight because we cant engage VOID SILENCER LION you fucking retard! Oh and you know what BH? Maybe if you wanted us to teamfight maybe buy greaves instead of your shitty ECHO SABRE... And the cherry on top: it had to happen on the one game I go 12 0 13 early on FUCKING BANE.
