So I'm a bit confused what the core item builds should be now. Both for lane and jungle. If I'm getting Shadow blade, then there's no real point in getting Phase, since in the long run, treads is better and I have my movement speed to chase/engage with early MOC and Shadow Blade.

Safe lane gives you more options with more early gold. You can choose to go for early fighting items and transition into Blink, Lothar, or straight BKB depending on how the game develops. AC should be a core item, as it's almost always going to be your 2nd major item. Everything past AC gets hairy and should be situational. No. Especially after the nerf, Shadowblade CD is too long for you to rely on it for in-fight/post-fight mobility. If you use Shadowblade to engage, you won't have the active during the fight. Overwhelming Odds helps, but only lasts 7 seconds and has a really long 18s CD. Phase is basically necessary if you did not get Blink Dagger, and sometimes still necessary if you did.

http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=203428546 -- jungle It feels strange to rush blink as a first item with little to go on as additional items to take out foes. I'll have to try this. Safe-lane one as well

I honestly wouldn't even bother with Overwhelming Odds at 5 on Jungle. The fact that MoC can't double-proc means that you use mana and lose HP far more aggressively in the jungle than you did in DotA 1, so you're unlikely to have the mana to gank comfortably pre-Blink. Really I'd be something like 0-2-3-1 at 6, with 0-4-4-1 at 9. You can start leveling Overwhelming Odds after Blink if you want, but I don't find it terribly compelling--the damage is not really that high unless you hit lots of targets, which basically means for farming or for teamfighting.

The secondary use of Duel other than as a ganking skill is as a 4-5s initiating disable that goes through magic immunity. Without BKB, initiating this way is basically a lost Duel every time. Crit is basically your 6th item if you get one at all. Prior to that survivability is your priority. Damage should not be a huge concern simply because if you're getting successful Duels, you will get so much free damage. Your priority should be staying in fights to do your damage.

I understand its importance of being bought right after Blink.

By the way, I haven't really improved Invoker at all that much. It is the hero I never play and fear playing. I'm going to add you Firebolt to Contributors because you helped make practically the whole thing. http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=129334727

Also did I really give you that build? I would never talk about QW in this day and age. If that's the only Invoker guide you have right now you should definitely make a second one for Exort Invokers since that's the more popular build right now.

I am available this weekend to do it, but I would have to do some reading to figure out what's the best way to build him: early game, core, situational, extension. and skill build. Does the QW one need improving? All in all, yes; I should do a second invoker guide and I am available to do it.
