AP, 5 solo queuers vs 5 solo queuers, we have clinkz solo safe versus mirana, freefarm, beastmaster manages to grab first blood on their kunkka and hard lane it's tri vs tri as tide, shadow shaman and me as abba against venge, sven and rubick. We manage to trade in our favor, beastmaster rotates and we kills all, later their kunkka rotates and they kill all of us! Then the game continues like this
The game is a giant teamfight ground, they slowly come back and daedalus bkb on kunkka and sven while we have a fat clinkz, roar and tide ulti versus rubick who manages to steal some good ultis a few times, really tense game, every fight can go either way, however the RNG AoE gods are punished with double necro 3 and usually sven or kunkka self suicide pretty fast. We finally take the win after they fail to take our highground and we can throne because they did not have bb ready, it averages 2 kills/minute in one hour long game and a final score of 61 60 in their favor.
Special shoutout to mates, we once disagree as we kill kunkka after he used bb 3 choosed to rosh and 2 choosed to push top, discussion, no flame, move on and play as a team

I accidentally had Captains mode selected after playing with some of my mates, and solo queued with that option, ended up with a team of 4 that gave me a Sven carry and basically 30 mins of 100% free farm , with wards, and gem to de-ward smokes to create kills and they TP to defend me and towers, they told me all i have to do is farm, which i did got around ~300 last hits by 30 mins with Bkb assault boots and deadulas and drums , from then on, it was a move to win, best team ever, they carried me and i returned the favor by carrying them post 30 mins, got myself 4 new steam friends

So last game, we begin with a 2nd minute disc from our WR, had someone pick void last even if we had specter+doom (me), and facing random NP and Dark Seer and picked wisp, tiny, and kunkka.
I'm not a real good doom player, in fact I only just practice him now since I saw some Aspera games and they really make him shine. So I went jungle, had void suicide lane, tinker mid, and specter safelane.
I can't believe how well these guys did. Tinker begins with first blood, and continues on a streak of 3 kills before being chased nearly to death but surviving from my suicide (RUN I'LL HOLD THEM - I'LL NEVER FORGET YOUR SACRIFICE). We end up losing most of our outer towers rather fast but by then void has bfury and can really hold out the pushes, specter is close to radiance and tinker has bots+level4 dagon.
Except at one point in the middle of the game when void ultied on us 3 when we were in the wall and a boat ended up falling on our heads, everyone of them just played spot-on, and noone (except I guess myself) flamed the fumbling of our team (NEVER ULT US AGAIN VOID PLEASE ok sorry I hurt your feelings carry me to victory pls)
I can't say I didn't play well, but holy shit this was some serious teamwork game we won.

Just won a game 3v5 (was 5v5, Naix DC'd. His friend, Dark Seer, leaves 5mins or so after) where I as Anti-Fun had a lich "supporting" me. Lich attacked creeps, didnt pull, didnt stack, barely harassed. I thought for sure we were gonna lose, I ended up farming my ass off while chaos sprung around me, and even controlled dark seer for a bit to try and swing fights our way.
Ended up being able to 5v1 and just a-moved to victory

Being the victim of 1/3 of the enemy teams kills doesn't matter when Lifestealer and Spectre carries you to victory anyway
|
Just had one of those teams that carried me through the early and mid game getting me room to farm and get huge on AM so I could return the favor with and carry them to victory. Our Mag had 2 or 3 clutch RPs and WR and Lina ran enough interference in broken up teamfights for me to pick off people. Felt awesome to win after how frustrated I was early game but the Mags positivity wore off on me

Played an all random, i was bristle with a timbersaw, nyx, someone else who didn't matter, and a lycan. God that lycan... Anyway, we were up against a bane, riki, mirana, qop, and another carry hero. So it looked like they had the superior lategame team. Whatever, I have a good bristle and nyx pubstomps right? Lycan tells us he doesn't like playing that hero, claiming he is only good for feeding. Despite our team not being as level or item dependent, amazing ganks from qop put us at 3-12 before laning phase ends. We proceed to get rocked in every skirmish and they continue to get level and item advantages. The only saving grace is that we don't lose towers. Eventually we scrape out of enough teamfights through incredible individual play from everyone minus lycan so that neither side has any t2's left. Lycan wants to jungle and ignore the team, and things get toxic. I admit that I flamed him too. The other team takes Rosh before we can contest, and timber and I die instantly. Despite this, we still get the Aegis as well as bane without losing anyone else while Lycan was jungling. We convince Lycan that if we can do that well in a 2v5 scenario, his help could turn the tide. He begrudgingly comes with the team to push, and after a long costly siege we get the mid melee rax. They come to counter push and by communicating with the angry lycan, we hold without losing t3 or glyph. Winning that hour+ game was one of the greatest feelings ever. It was so toxic between lycan and the team and we were so far behind that it looked like we were on route to a stomp. But by pointing out clear instances where lycan could be a star player, communicating objectives clearly, agreeing to put objectives aside so lycan would farm and cooperate, and incredible amounts of tryharding from everyone else, we won the game with all our t3's standing. It was the best comeback of my career and the first one where we came back from such an unwinnable position. I've never been so happy to win a match of any game before, and it will be a long time before something like that happens again

I got carried hard by a Russian Meepo today. It felt great.

Last game the team I had literally dragged my kicking and screaming butt to victory.
Mirana mid really shouldn't lose to Sand King, but alas I did. Thankfully I got my levels and was able to make a contribution or two, but really it was Drow and Lina that did it.
Commended both of them, last commends I have for now. Hopefully luck continues.

I actually saw a 2009 video where he ran a sand king mid and killed the opposing mirana. I wouldn't say it's horrible to lose the matchup. It's probably somewhat favored for the mirana because of the range, but its not like you're up against a nightstalker with zero impact until night.

5v5 all solo Q, enemy team had pubstars SB and Nyx. My team had amazing supports (SD, disruptor). All kinds of wards and dusts everywhere. SB and Nyx did nothing. ahh, this must be solo q heaven.

It's highly favored for PotM. She has two nukes and two escape mechanisms, which let her control lane and runes really well. What she doesn't have is right-click damage, so a skilled Sand King player can easily turn the lane into a tie with or without bottle crow. Losing the lane as PotM is difficult, though. I'm guessing that what happened is Sand King controlled the lane positioning hard and used Sandstorm and Caustic Finale to zone him out. Once a reasonable amount of harass went down, Burrowstrike could easily have forced him out of lane. Alternatively, he could have underestimated the damage coming out from Caustic Finale+Burrowstrike combos, dove in a little too far, and then taken upwards of 400 burst damage.
It's cool that his team brought it back, though. Good that they were so forgiving.

I never died, but I was waaaay too greedy with my start. Circlet, 3 branches, slippers, and a tango. I know better than that and how important a bottle is, but I skipped out for more damage. I ended up taking a few burrow strikes and had to get lucky with a regen rune once I did get my bottle just to stay in lane. No wards hurt with runes and unfortunately I was left to farm during a number of the midgame teamfights to try and get up a yasha so that I could contribute.
It was a number of mistakes by me that put me in the position. Granted I did still contribute with a few good arrows and some good ults, but overall we won because of the skill of the Drow/Lina players.

Played an all random game, and we really got screwed over. I can't remember excactly the teams, but at first looking at our team I was thinking "Oh, this is pretty good!", then I saw their team.. The setup was just really strong. I was playing razor, and was doing half decently, but in the end they played better and had a better setup as well.
As usual we had one guy playing bloodseeker who was very upset and started yelling at everyone. Us, them, dota for picking unfair teams.. You name it. But on the other hand, we had a windrunner who was just.. having fun regardless. Joking, staying positive and just being friendly. There was no way we were gonna win that game from when this started, but we kept trying to get ONE hero here and there for the moral victories while chatting about loads of stuff ranging from ice cream to batman.
It's just nice to see someone not just being graceful in defeat, but actually just have fun with it. When you solo queue with all random, you really can't expect to go around winning every game

Granted I did still contribute with a few good arrows and some good ults, but overall we won because of the skill of the Drow/Lina players. Probably the best starting items for your position would be Wraith Band Salve. The extra 9 (!!!) damage really helps in lane, along with the assorted stats, and can be built into the very useful Aquila if you desire. Meanwhile, Salve is a superior option to Tangoes because Sand King has no way to harass you down but instead can only burst you (allowing you to safely wait until low HP to get full use out of the Salve). There's the added benefit of being able to Salve while still lasthitting creeps, because you have range and he does not. The idea of getting more damage was just fine. You just didn't have the optimum way of managing it. Bottle rush builds are less effective because you're not going to be using that mana to nuke down waves like Mag, DK, Storm, and heroes like that generally rely on. Meanwhile, as PotM, you desperately need more damage to function in lane, to the point where Blades of Attack are almost viable.
Additionally, you can put a LOT of pressure onto the Sand King by just right-clicking him. PotM has amazing range and animation, and even if she's just hitting for 50 damage a pop, that will wear away at the guy.

Public game, all random. My team gets 5 support heroes, enemy team gets 4 carries. Thought we were gonna get face smashed once late game hit. Never really got to middle game; my team kept ganking and pushing left right centre 24/7 yolo. At the end of a very short game best item the enemy team had was Ring of Health.

Queueing with a friend who is kinda inexperienced but tries at least. End up in Captain's Mode and I end up as Captain. Team actually talks to each other for a change. We discuss picks and bans. I manage to draft up OD first which is excellent. One guy calling for Furion, another for Ursa...I reluctantly agree; drafting up furion second pick with weaver and then Rubick and Ursa...
And the two DIDN'T fight over the jungle! Ursa actually listened when I said that if I picked Ursa I wanted him to go lane with Rubick; Furion went into the jungle and came out for ganks. I wrecked mid with OD and my friend held on for his life as solo offlane Weaver (I kinda threw him under the bus a bit there, he'd wanted a support but we'd been in desparate need of an offlaner and one of the other guys snatched up the Rubick; he's never played Weaver before and never played offlane solo before as far as I know but we won I guess).
Nice team synergy. Whenever we got caught out we usually managed to turn it around to our advantage with good teamwork. Good communication and taking my direction because I'd drafted the lineup. All round nice play. Huge surprise, great team, few arguments. Absolute pleasure to play with them.
Of course the next game I played with that friend of mine a guy on our team said he'd wreck their SF with a DK mid and seemed really confident about it. Instead he let SF get up to 36 souls really quick, get a DD and wreck me (on Spectre) and Ogre bottom and then take bottom tower our and snowball hard. All whilst everyone is yelling at my friend on Sand King that he's a noob. :-\
Oh matchmaking you fickle mistress.

So I solo queued a game, and got four russians on my team who didnt speak a word of english. We picked an early game lineup with my nature's prophet being the most "late game viable" hero. Amazingly, despite zero communications with me and barely any between them, it seems we actually knew exactly what we had the do.
The supports warded with objectives in mind, we systematically pushed towers, and we ganked their mid sf quite hard, so we ended up winning every lane. After we pushed of their 6 outer towers, we pretty much starved them for about 10 minutes and ended the game. It turns out that I got trolled by my housemates and they changed my settings to russian server/language (didnt notice lag, only 100 ping amazingly). Looks like my conclusion from that game is that all the russians playing on eu server are pretty much idiots, and all the actually good players in russia play on russian server, with the exception of the pros.

869 gpm as juggernaut. at one point i dropped 2 rapiers and then we still won.
