Mechanical is simply the best.

What a ridiculous statement to make. That's like saying "Buying good running shoes won't make you a good runner". Of course it won't, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't buy good running shoes?

Let's take it to the next level and say why would you buy clothes when a potato sack with holes punched in will do the job.

IMO Razer's Blackwidow Stealth is the best keyboard I've used and worth the price, as are some other mechanical keyboards. If you play seriously I would buy one.
i have the razer blackwidow ultimate, and I don't mind the clicking, but if you didn't want the extra noise, definitely go with the stealth
by far the best keyboard I have ever used, don't care how many people bring up the fact that they had a "bad" batch

DT-35 is nice because i think it has a shorter throw distance. That being said I have noticed since the 90's people having wrist problems with rubber membrane keyboards where the incidence rate is lower with mechanical. Could be nothing, but I'd imagine requiring half the pressure to activate a switch helps your wrists a lot.

Dont they sell them for cheaper over at Nadamall? Thats where I've been meaning to buy mine at least...

Cherry switches for the lose. I don't know what you're thinking. Buckling spring is the worst thing possible to use for gaming. Mechanical keyboards don't click per se. The clicking sound comes from specific mechanical switch types, most notably the Cherry MX blue switches. If you get MX brown or MX black switches, there will be no click. On May 11 2012 15:20 sluggaslamoo wrote: I have a buckling spring keyboard with korean layout. :D
Cherry switches for the lose. I don't know what you're thinking, assuming you use it with games. Buckling spring is the worst thing possible to use for gaming Buckling spring is actually the best for gaming, it's the only switch where the actual clicking noise responds at the actuation point. Only problem they have is wearing out quicker than the other types of switches... But with manufacturing the way it is now if you get a properly made keyboard like mine or something like an IBM model M they'll out last and perform anything modern. My own keyboard is a perfect example, my friend was actually in the process of throwing it out D:
This, also bottoms-out much earlier than a cherry keyboard, so the action is much shorter.
I own a cherry blue majestouche, a TOPRE capacitative HHKB, a Samsung SEM DT-35, a unicomp customizer 101, and unicomp ultra classic korean layout (the one i use right now).
The buckling spring keyboards have by far been the best, much less ghosting, missed keypresses, less fatigue, and the clacks are oh so satisfying. And this is coming from someone who plays BW where accuracy is much more important. 1a2a3a4a5a6a7a8a9a0a 6t7t8t 0p9p 4z5z6z7d8d9d0d 4sm5sm6sm.

I have 2 mechanical keyboards laying around because they suck. I use DT-35 over any mechanical keyboard, every day of the week.

I actually just bought one of these the other day.. my friend has one and i actually loved the feel the of the keyboard.. its a big change since i'm using a razer lycosa which tbh is pretty terrible (bought it like 3 years ago) found one from an ebay store which happened to have a real website.. they had 5k+ positive feedback on ebay so i gave it a shot edit: forgot to mention its only 25$ with free shipping http://www.buykingkorea.com/qsenn-sem-dt35-gaming-edition-korean-english-keyboard-black.html

Have you tried using a mechanical? Have you tried using a mechanical for longer than 2 minutes?
If no to both, then you're just displaying the same attitude I did before I even tried a mechanical. If you spend a lot of time on the computer like some people (for working and gaming), maybe then you'd understand why mechanical keyboards are so much better than regular keyboards.
If yes, you're just like the full of membrane keyboard pride.

I use the steelseries 6gv2 keyboard with cherry mx blacks and I love it, could never go back to a rubber dome one
|
Keyboards are personal preference, most prefer mechanical, some prefer membrane, there is nothing wrong with either.
|
Using a mechanical keyboard is like playing with mouse acceleration on. It feels like the amount of pressure you need to put on each key is not constant/linear. Feels really weird and suboptimal.
|
|
I got a dt-35 and a 6gv2, but somehow, i can never get used to the 6gv2...still prefer the dt-35
