I know in nvidia control panel you can play around with the settings to squeeze and stretch your screen, but it looks dumb and warped. In sc2, you can change your resolutions and see which one works best, but they kinda just have the same stretchy look. On another note, I can not believe I have been playing since beta on those settings and thinking that was right. I can see and do so much more now!! It's like I've been training under 100 x gravity for two years and now I can finally go super saiyan. WOOT

As it is now, Eyefinity gets a huge advantage in-game technically (excluding some of the problems it brings up which can be dealt with though), so I don't know what you're talking about.Show nested quote + On April 26 2012 14:04 EvolPenguin wrote: On April 26 2012 13:39 skyR wrote: This illustrates the difference between the various aspect ratios: + Show Spoiler + ![]() Did you set in-game resolution to 1920x1080, assuming your 42" is 1080p... or 1280x720 if it's an older / shittier model? This seems odd to me, as my 16x10 monitor is 1920x1200, while a 16x9 monitor is 1920x1080. Wouldn't it instead give you more vertical view? Or does blizzard rely purely on aspect ratio? Alex Aspect ratio. Otherwise imagine the chaos with eyefinity. If the screen display was instead adjusted to reveal the same area regardless of aspect ratio, things would be a whole lot fairer. Sure Eyefinity would become non-viable, but it shouldn't be giving any sort of advantage in the first place. Why should people need to have better monitors to gain an advantage? It's simply unfair that people with 2000$ to spend on monitors alone get to see more than regular Joes or lower-income people who are on cheaper 4:3 screens. On April 27 2012 05:34 willverrecken wrote: so is it possible to force 16 ![]() Diablo 3 has a feature called "letterboxing" that does that. I don't know WTF they didn't also add that feature for Starcraft 2. For Starcraft 2, the only easy way to get widescreen aspect ratio on a lower width screen is to go into windowed mode (and change the aspect ratio to whatever you want). The problem there is that you can then no longer use CrossfireX/SLI to render the game, and even if you're only on 1 graphics card, you're going to get slower FPS from windowed mode. There are 3rd party methods of changing the aspect ratio, but I'm not too familiar with any in particular. I would think a program called Powerstripe would be able to do it.
