Cannot get Crossfire to work.

Picked up my brother's new PC today and installed stuff, etc. but I cannot get his two Sapphire 6870's to work.

The Catalyst Control Center doesn't show an option for crossfire, but it does pick up the two cards, it says one is the primary adapter and the other one is disabled. Windows device control also picks up two cards. The second card doesn't show up in HWMonitor, but it does in cpu-z... I've tried installing new drivers, rebooting, deleting them, rebooting, installing again, rebooting but I just cannot get the crossfire option to show in the CCC.

2x Sapphire Radeon 6870 1GB
i5-2500k (not overclocked yet)
8GB Corsair Vengeance 1600MHz
Asus P8P67 (no suffixes)
120GB Intel 320 series SSD
WD 320GB Caviar Blue HDD (which doesn't show up by the way, I'll have to check cables)

Could it be because I didn't fit the bridge correctly? Like I didn't push it far enough in?

You need to download Cap 4 from the AMD site. Make sure you have the second HDD set up in BIOS to load up right after teh SSD. If its not detected in BIOS, it's not connected correctly.

I downloaded CAP4, but to no avail.

The second card doesn't show up in HWMonitor, but it does in cpu-z... Is this because it may not be installed completely correctly?

Edit: Try switching them - to see if they both work. Did you connect appropriate power to both cards?

I'll try installing the bridge the other way around and if that doesn't work switch the cards.

Got it to work by setting the second x16 PCIe slot to x4 mode instead of auto (which ran it at x1).

(and the harddrive not being recognized was because it wasn't plugged in -_- great job guys who assembled it)
