Not really an upgrade at all.

Will a I7 3612qm with 8gb and Intel hd4000 allow me to watch hd streams on the tv? I'm not sure what is required to watch HD steam ( processor seems good, but gfx?).
Will this also allow me to run sc2, not for playing, more for replay watching.
That system will easily do HD streams. It can even Blu Ray if you really want to.
It should be able to do replay watching pretty well provided the resolution isn't particularly high. Late game battles might be a problem if you constantly change the speed of the replay but that's to be expected.

GT 430 is pretty bad. GTS 250 (aka rebranded 9800 GTX+, which is die-shrunk 9800 GTX, which is just an overclocked 8800 GTS from six years ago) is maybe 80% faster or so, so I might consider it for $30. GTS 250 can't do DX11 though.
I guess GTS 250 was the only Nvidia *50 part worth having for the price, and it was a rebrand anyway.

Hello
I got SC2 installed on my SSD (C). And all the replays and the other stuff is saved in "documents" folder which is located on the SSD. Is it possible to make SC2 have it's folder somewhere else? Move it? (The StarCraft II folder is in my documents) I don't want SC2 to save up files on the SSD.

Just moved your documents folder, right click > properties . If you don't want to move it than create a symbolic link for the Starcraft II folder.

Guys do you know how to get to this option in win8? http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/Change-keyboard-settings I need the character delays/repeats option as im playing zerg and when i need to "hold" roaches or lings it just takes so long.. I dont have any "keyboard" option in Control panel -> hardware and sound, only got "mouse" there.
EDIT: Sorry found it under "my devices" and there under the PC. I think it was because i run old ps2 keyboard so it might have not detected is as "standalone device" but rather as part of the PC. So if anyone gets this heres how to get to there Control panel -> View Devices and Printers -> Right click on desktop PC -> Keyboard settings.

sorry if noob question but i read that somewhere and dont see what it affects? speaking of DX11 that is. what does it apply to that the GTS 250 wont be compatible with? thanks in advance, he offered it for free so if the DX11 part isnt serious im gonna take it

another question, my brother got offered a used i5-760 and a huge mobo i forgot the name but the damn thing wouldnt fit in a normal case for about 120$, is it worth it or should he just get the fx-6300 with the 10$ mobo deal from microcenter for about the same price? thanks

That said, GT 430 is way too slow to be turning on settings like that anyway. No games only support DirectX 11 and thus won't run on older hardware. EATX? How many slots?
Anyway, depends what your brother uses the computer for. i5-760 is a little preferable for most things including games but a little worse at others.
What other deals are available at MicroCenter? What does he currently use?

i didnt go over his house with him but it had like 4-6 GPU slots, it wouldnt fit in a standard case i guess. im not sure on the other microcenter deals but they do all the FX cpus with 50$ off any mobo, so basic mobos end up like 10$-30.i THINK they have similiar deals on intels with 50$ off mobo but those deals come and go i believe, the FX ones are always going on. his current PC is a prbuilt he got cheap its very basic and allows him to play SC2 on low/low but cant play games like dayz or planetside2 without lag, he doesnt do much on it but plans to play planetside/sc2 hots etc.

do u guys know any way to speed up a download of HOTS patch? im getting 50 kb/s

I just bought a new laptop which came with Windows 7 Home Premium. For 30Euro i can upgrade to Windows 8 Proffesional.
Is there any reason not to? I mainly use the laptop to watch streams, browse, and perhaps play the occasional game. + Show Spoiler +INtel I7 3612QM/ 8gb memory, GT630m

Software incompatibility and the fact that you probably won't get anything out of W8 over W7.

was that the answer to my question?

The windows 8 user interface is a pain in the ass to get used to. Personally, I don't recommend it over Windows 7. Also, aside from 7 vs 8, Professional vs Home Premium doesn't get you anything useful for most people.

No Craton was responding to Mithriel (obviously?). No idea on HOTS patch.

In what cases would it be a good idea to try a water cooling system for your CPU? It appeals to me because it seems like a good, quiet cooling solution, but I'm worried it might be overkill.

For most users water cooling is overkill especially if you mean a full kit instead of a closed loop CPU unit. You can get very quiet air cooled solutions as well.

Do you have this problem only with the HOTS patch or with other downloads too? If only HOTS patch, probably nothing on your side.

When I right click - properties. I do not know how to do it exactly. I want to move the folder to my D drive. Can you explain in detail how I do it? Will it affect my sc2 replays which are in there(In starcraft II folder in documents)?
Edit: Never mind. It is all good. I checked the folder. And it says located in D drive. The reason I felt it didn't work was because I made it make a folder called " D documents" but it made it name "My documents" instead. But anyways worked.
Thank you.
