Your settings look fine for a 720p stream (bitrate is in the upper threshold but should be fine). I assume you're using the 'default preset'?. There are a few posts lately that messing around with the buffer may help (some say use 1/4th of the bitrate, some say x4 the bitrate) - this is still very new to me, but I guess it can't hurt to try. Your hardware looks fine too, but don't be fooled by the 50% CPU usage. I have found that it is quite tricky to measure real usage when it comes to XSplit+SC2. I'd like you to try this: Record a local recording - is it lagging? What kind of FPS do you have ingame during streaming? Lower your desktop resolution to 1280x720 and try that out (while streaming) If nothing proves to work out, you could try FME - there are examples on this forum of people having more luck with that (well, also vice versa).

Can you think of anything that have changed? Your ISP? Your computer (drivers/software)? Obviously XSplit is updated now and then a) Your settings in the first two examples say 8000 kbit/s, but your internet is 4800 kbit/s. That doesn't compute at all. Also for the initial tests let the buffer be what the app suggests (usually x2 of the bitrate) b) The 60 FPS is for the stream, not your game. 30 FPS is more than enough for the viewers. This will mean a lot regarding lag, as only about half the amount of data needs to be transferred. For a 720p set your bitrate to 2000 (buffer 4000), 30FPS, Preset=Default, Quality=10. For a 480p set your bitrate to 750, 30FPS, Preset=Default, Quality=10. Test those settings, and if you still lag, do a local recording. What is your desktop resolution? Try setting it to 720p and repeat the above. What kind of FPS do you have ingame while streaming? Is your CPU load high? Are you running software like P2P (ie. Spotify) while streaming? Is anyone else using your internet while your'e streaming? And I'd really suggest setting your audio bitrate to 128.000 (no reason not to)

Is anyone else using your internet while your'e streaming? And I'd really suggest setting your audio bitrate to 128.000 (no reason not to) I may have fixed the problem. It got to the point where even really low quality streaming (like 1000 kbps) would lag, so I decided to restart my computer, restart my modem, run CCleaner, and now I can use my old settings. I think it might have been because my IP address changed and sometimes that can really mess up my connection. I'll go from having normal speeds to not even being able to load 30 second YouTube videos. I've noticed when I (try to) stream 720p my in game fps drops and the game actually lags a little, also my CPU usage is always around 90-100%. When I stream 480p the game is always at 60fps like it's supposed to be and my CPU usage is around 40% max. Because of that I'm going to try to just work on getting the most out of 480p. It's not really that much worse, just a little fuzzy/blurry looking. My desktop res is 1920x1200 and I usually play games at 1280x720 if I'm going to stream them. In Black Ops I get 60fps which is the max unless you use console commands I think. The only things I ever have running are MSE, AIM, Firefox, XSplit, Steam, and whatever game I'm streaming. My mom plays Farmville and browses Facebook, that's about it. Just switched to 128000, thanks.

The above quote is very accurately describing my experience with XSplit. I think a lot of people mistakenly thinks, that as long as the CPU isn't maxed, you can up the resolution/bitrate/framerate as you please. This is not always the case. You oftentimes will hit the limit way before 100%. If your have low FPS because the CPU isn't the fastest/newest anymore, playing in the same resolution as you stream, is really smart. It eases quite a lot of the CPU stress, since it doesn't have to resize the frames, only compress them (that and the frames are physically smaller).

I've got an i5 2500k overclocked to 4.5GHz, 8GB of 1333MHz RAM, an NVidia GTX 560 Ti graphics card. My monitor's resolution is 1440x900, but I'm streaming in 1280x720. Processor load rarely rises above 30% when I'm in-game. Temperatures are fine. I'm wired right to the modem (or whatever the proper term is for Thing-That-Gives-Internet-That's-Not-The-Router). No firewalls. I'm using the basic recommended setup for a 720p stream. (bitrate to 2000, buffer 4000, 30FPS, Preset=Default, Quality=10, audio bitrate at 128k) Here's my speedtest results from Seattle to LA: Here's a recording of my stream. As mentioned above, the skipping issues don't show until I'm in-game. http://www.twitch.tv/iamnode/b/294951305 Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Try switching your Justin.tv location from "default" to "main origin cluster" I did the same and it fixed my problem, which is similar to what you are describing Source of fix: http://www.xsplit.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=1752 It has to be something on Xsplit's end. In short, a lot of people recently with very good computers and internet connection have no in-game problems but the stream is lagging really bad. A current workaround may be what I posted above.
