hello guys,

I just picked up my new sc2 mouse. It seemed to look fine, but my real worry is that,
It would move slightly when im in stationary position to click. Now i dont think it would effect my gaming that much, but im sure this would deter my accuracy. I've installed all the drivers and tried different mouse mats(currently using razer destructor) and still it moves alittle side to side when i click in stationary position. If any other spectre owners have this flaw, please let me know how to get around it.

Did you try different mouse pads ? or surfaces to see if it still occurs

Razer mice seem to have this fault sometimes. The Mamba had this problem for a while, but they fixed it with a driver update within a few months after it was released

I would triple check that you've updated to the latest drivers. Apart from that I can't help you much D:

its just the dpi is too high, some people dont realize even when simply clicking that they move the mouse a bit by mistake and with super high dpi its a noticeable movement. i also have the spectre and its totally fine.

Phillips Twin Eye strikes again...

The high DPI isn't the problem, its the shitty sensor Razer use in their laser mice. I can use 5600 DPI on my Logitech mouse on a soft mouse pad and I get no jitter or Z-Axis lift off problems. On my PTE mice I get the problems you describe.

Avago > PTE.

I would return it if you still can, if you can't just consider it a lesson learned like I did with mine

The reason you don't get the problem with the Salmosa is that it uses an Avago sensor and not PTE.

I have the same problem, But i have found a fix that works for me.

I've noticed that each time i pop up the Razer Mouse program it stops jittering.
But when I close it, it starts to jitter again.

I just leave the program on. Works for me! jitter free =D

Tell me if it works for you!

Yeah I'm getting this problem too. Opening the mouse program doesnt seem to work. Changing the DPI in the driver settings isn't helping either. Hopefully the guys at Razer can get this sorted. The Marauder Keyboard is great though.

mmhh have a imperator which uses a twin eye too ( a similar/same version as in the mamba) and absolutely cant reproduce this.

i just even tried to do it by putting the mouse on the softest thing i could find fast... a stack of loose toiletpaper.... and still it didnt happen .except when i just clicked without holding the mouse obv moving it "deep" into the soft tp. (it tracked surprisingly well btw on this exotic surface ;D)

maybe they use different versions/firmware or some are just black sheep in the production but im glad it doesnt happen for me even when i try ~~

I think it can be fixed with firmware, the problem (as far as I know) is to do with including the "lift-off" z-axis distance in the x and y screen co-ordinates. Since there is no z-axis on a 2d screen the Z values should either be discarded or only used for correcting cursor position when the mouse is picked up and placed somewhere else.

The problem seems to be that the default Philips firmware got this wrong and most manufacturers don't seem to care or take ages to fix it because it only effects some mouse pads.

Another thing to test if your mouse has the issue is if you constantly pick up and place your mouse in exactly the same location. If the cursor stays in approximately the same spot then your mouse does not have any issues. If it shifts diagonally until it hits the edge of the screen then you have a problem that can only be solved by:
- Hoping for new firmware
- Using a hard mouse pad and not lifting the mouse
- Getting a new mouse

Here is a great youtube video that shows the problem I am talking about:

If your mouse doesn't suffer then you are one of the lucky ones and I'm glad you didn't end up with a dud

@vek

the diagonal jump happens abit when i lift it up straight . but it seems to displace much less when you lift it in a moving motion like you do while playing fps etc. jsut a tiny jitter that so far all mice i used had.

and as said i couldnt reproduce the "press too hard on soft surface". maybe its some semi fixed version. or im really just lucky.

i dont know how bad it is with the other mice or the previous twin eye razer ones but after reading about it i expected it to be WAY WAY worse. as i said in a different thread i didnt even notice it till i read about this and my imperator having this sensor.

so maybe imperator/mamba now good/acceptable depending on usage style, rest not so much?

I have a crappy logitech mouse that came with my computer and it doesn't have these issues. Why would i pay 100+ dollars for these problems? I love Razer, but I am lol'ing at that mouse...

Yeah I'd say you are lucky

I have one PTE based mouse (Genius Ergo 555) where it has almost no issues. On my CM Storm Sentinel was so bad it was unusable. My Razer Lachesis was as bad as the CM Storm but i also found it uncomfortable as hell. I just gave it away with a computer I was building for a friends family... Some poor kid trying to play CS is probably raging about it lol.

Currently using a Logitech G700 (avago sensor) and extremely happy with it.

well there's your problem...

The spectre uses the twin fail sensor, like most current razers and therefore sucks ass. buy a decent mouse like the xai...

Cool that i found this information about the mouses. I use here my "second" Razer Spectre. The first one had glitches like : while i was moving the cursor, sometimes it could just stop to a virtual vertical line on the screen or sometimes it could bounce like crazy... What is freak about that is that it was happening like 1 day, then nothing for 1-2 months, and then comeback.... Me and Razer tried so many things, and they decided finally to replace my old spectre, but with my new one, it does the same with the same interval . I can't figured out what is the problem.. wmy comp? or the mouse drivers are not working properly with my comp... So i orderer a different mouse to confirm that...

My feelings is that drivers/firmware suck....

I had the same problem originally with my spectre, and I just came to conclusion that because the front of the mouse is raised, whenever u click it moves slightly forward just based of clicking. But when I changed how I held the mouse to a more firm grip it pretty solved the problem.

If you get the settings right like someone has mentioned above. (turning the dpi down) It's 50x better than your 5$ piece of .... <3

Also true. Always test a mouse, feel the grip and read a review before buying a mouse.

just to clarify the situation a bit: there's some versions of the PTE that works great, and there is some versions from Avago that are total shit too

http://www.overclock.net/mice/854100-ocn-mouse-sensor-reference-performance-sheet.html

i use a mouse that uses a Philips Twin Eye PLN 2031 - no problems at all
