Nothing changed. Then suddenly this week it decided to stop lagging/stuttering suddenly and unfortunately its cause and fix are completely unknown to me. This leads me to believe that it could be Bnet or my connection to Bnet as the opponents never complained about any lag/stuttering.

Are you using a wireless network? Do you share the network with anyone? Since you have a brand new installation, did you check if your OS is downloading updates? It doesn't have to be on your side either, could be Battle.net is just laggy. Oh, and make sure it's not your virus scanner either. add the sc2.exe to trusted applications

I would agree but in about 70 games not one single person has complained about me lagging. Are you using a wireless network? Yes but I am hard wired. Do you share the network with anyone? Yes, one person but all they use is facebook and such. Problem also continues when they go to bed and turn off their computer. Just seems odd it recently just started happening and it's always happening, even when other near my physical location are not having it happen. I think there is a problem with my hdd or perhaps the onboard soundcard. The RAM in my comp tested fine and you should check that too and tonight when I go to bed im going to run a HDD test from POST using a bootable cd. I also have a realtek card in my laptop but since it happens outside of sc2 for me it might be a different problem unless it happens while doing other applications at the samee time as well for you.

No idea what causes it, I think it's a bug on blizzard's end. Personally I think it has something to do with map size. It happens much less on simple maps than complicated maps. For instance it almost never happens on Steppes of War. But some of the more graphically heavy ICCup maps, it happens first time every time, even after a reboot. Perhaps something to do with pathfinding. Some of Blizz' graphics are bugged, too. I notice they finally fixed the corruptor. But maybe there's some doodad or something used on certain maps that causes it.

Have you tried the first, most basic thing yet? UPDATE YOUR GRAPHICS CARD DRIVERS. Use driver sweeper to uninstall the old driver BEFORE installing the new version. I cant believe how many people dont know SHIT ALL and post like they know what they are doing! Might just want to update windows while your at it. ALWAYS have the latest windows updates unless they are causing issues. If that happens you roll back.

This would be the Win Vista/7 solution, if it is this: http://www.wlanbook.com/disable-windows-vista-wireless-zero-configuration/

No virus scanner is installed. Thanks for answering all my questions. The mystery only gets bigger though. But seriously, no virus scanner? do you have any idea how easy it is to get a virus on your pc? I'd download a free virus scanner and do a scan if I were you. Could be your pc is on a zombie network and someone else is abusing your internet connection.

If you took 2 minutes to read the thread you will see I have already done that and it has been suggested. On December 08 2010 03:50 Roban wrote: Thanks for answering all my questions. Now I'm on a fresh install, and only browse sites that I know are safe (TL, MMAjunkie, Yahoo, etc). I have not torrented anything or even have it installed. All my downloads come right from the manufacturers site (skype) or right from download.com and I have used them in the past.

Only 2 things that I can come up with that could have something to do with it. 1. your modem has a bad connection with your ISP. You could give them a call and they can change the frequency which slightly lowers your speed but should improve your connection stability. 2. Someone else is using your wireless network, but I think you probably have a good password so it's not likely. I hope this helps, let us know when/if you've fixed it!

What other changes did you make? sry, that I didnt follow this thread, I hope your problems have been resolved. If not, there is a option in SC2 under sound to reduce the sound channels. The default is 64, I turned it down to 48. I also normally have both speakers and headphones attached to my PC (back and front), and use the option to play different sound streams over different outputs. When I play SC2, I have to turn off this option, so it mutes my speakers and only plays sound over my headphones.
