Though those were all Blue LED(since I have a Brown one) NKRO model is just some marketing strategy. Who the hell is gonna press more than 6 keys at the same time in an RTS game? or in any games that I can think of.

I own both a Majestouch NKRO Tactile Touch (MX Brown) and a Majestouch NKRO Tenkeyless Tactile Click (MX Blue) and they both have blue LED lights with the gold logo. Perhaps it's only the care for the Tenkeyless version (w/o numpad) so you might be right. But nobody in their right mind should go for Black or Red switches over Brown and Blue, IMO. EDIT: Nevermind, just checked my Filco Blue board and it's green LEDs. I suppose I thought it was the same since my Browns get all the use.

The non-NKRO Filcos, like most non-NKRO keyboards, have minimum 2 key rollover (some combos of 3 or more will not go through)

There is a different problem called ghosting where multiple simultaneous key-presses will cause keys to register that you never pressed. For example, you might have several keys on the left side of your keyboard pressed, and suddenly a comma will register out of nowhere. Microsoft keyboards are notorious for this.

I'm curious how these compare to the likes of a Filco, etc.

From a strictly performance perspective my WPM went from 135 to 165 as it is much easier to type quickly on then a membrane keyboard, and my average APM went from 330 to 400. My gaming performance has improved in part because I am not as lazy anymore because it doesn't take as much effort to do the commands I want to do. This coming from a 1950~ point player so while I am not a pro at sc2, I feel like I'm decent enough that my experience with this keyboard can be taken for what it's worth.

I don't believe they are available yet, but I have to imagine they've demo'd them at various conventions, etc. I'm curious how these compare to the likes of a Filco, etc. People on Overclock.net have gotten the board early- at least one guy in Singapore bought it from a mall. 2 key rollover (comparable to non-nkro filcos), decent software bundle. OEMed by iOne from what we can tell, but no one has disassembled it yet as far as I am aware

This is actually a very good keyboard and would suit people who type a lot e.g. Programmers, Writers etc, it is not exclusive to gamers. So all in all I would say its a worth well investment.

Because the USB HID interface design is limited to 6-key-rollover (plus 4 modifier keys), you must use the PS/2 adapter if you want full NKRO (in practice, you're extremely unlikely to need more than 6-key; you're going to have one hand on the mouse while gaming, and your other hand typically has five fingers). The NKRO versions are about $25 more expensive. The 87-key (tenkeyless) versions are all NKRO, as are the 104 key ones with the gold Filco logo (again, only when used with the PS/2 adapter). The 104 key ones with the silver logo are not NKRO even with the PS/2 adapter. For reference: Filco Majestouch 104-key Filco Majestouch 87-key (tenkeyless) Filco Majestouch numeric keypad My bad. I thought it was the tenkeyless version.

Cherry MX Blue - If you like a clicking sound, or you're used to an old-skool mechanical keyboard like a Model M these are the ones for you. Great for typing, great for gaming if you like the clickyness. Has both a tactile "bump" and the clicking sound to let you know it's activated (you don't need to bottom it out like a membrane keyboard). Cherry MX Brown - Similar feel and a little lighter than Blue. Has a light tactile "bump" in the keystroke to let you know it's activated, but no "click". This is probably the "safe" choice. It's quieter than a blue, so if you have a quiet work environment or just don't like the clicking sound. Great for typing or for gaming or any other use other than scuba diving. If it matters to you, both Tester and Fruit Dealer seem to be using Filcos with this switch. I prefer this switch, and I bought my keyboard primarily for typing on all day. It would still be my first choice if I were to get a keyboard primarily for gaming. Cherry MX Black - Linear switch, heavier than Blue or Brown. Some people think these are better for FPS games, but not everyone agrees. Most agree these are inferior for typing. There is no tactile or audio feedback. In theory, you could double hit keys very quickly with this switch with less finger movement if you had a good feel for it. The quietest of the three (even browns tend to be louder than membrane keyboards). Other Cherry colors (e.g. reds, clears) are rare, mostly only found in specialized POS keyboards and the like, probably aren't deserving of any particular mystique. Other switches: Alps - poor man's cherries. A small minority of people really like them. Buckling spring - Old skool, loud as hell clicky keyboards like an IBM Model M. If people hear you typing on one of these, they know you're freaking serious (clackity clackity clack). Topre - Something completely different, all keyboards featuring this switch are north of $200. I've typed on one once, and it's very unique. Very very smooth capacitive switch. Scissor switch - laptop style keyboards. If you just don't know, Cherry MX Brown is a safe bet. You're not going to get one and think "oh, this is rubbish." It will be obvious that you're using a quality, luxurious object.
