Those among you who are more computer-savvy than me might know. Is there a way you can run to parallel starcraft 2 executables? If I try to just open it twice it returns me to the first screen. I tried the old copy/initiate 2nd that people used to do with broodwar, but it's apparently not working.
I haven't tried installing it properly in a second folder or on one of my other drives, but I will try that tomorrow. Unless you know of a better way
Thanks, and well met.

I don't think there is any way, one of my mates has a laptop so he can watch us play games and also ladder or play in other games himself but I haven't heard of anyone running multiple instances yet.

I gues that'd be a solution. But I would much rather make use of my second proper monitor instead of my laptop's 15 something inch screen. :/
Thanks anyway.

Hm I'll look into it, thanks.

When you just copy pasted it did you make sure to run it under a different log-in account for windows most times that will work, i haven't run into many instances where that didn't work. Except when you have a run game though a launcher only which sc2 is like.

I had a similar question, sorry for bumping an old thread, but how would I run more than 2 instances of SC2? I used sandboxie, but I the triel version only lets me run 1 sandbox at a time, any suggestions?

Download and install virtualbox. Install windows on virtual box. Install starcraft 2 on both virtual box and regular computer. Execute in virtual box and then execute on computer. There you go, you've executed two simultaneous instances of starcraft 2.

alright, ill try that, thanks, also, can you run multiple virtual boxes since im trying to run more than 2 instances of starcraft 2

What do you need more than two instances of SC2 up for, if you don't mind me asking?

trying to match myself with myself in free for all games, but its not working, the account I need wins on isnt getting matched with the other accounts, but every other account gets matched together.

Do FFA games take your MMR into account?

I believe so since I'm in master and couldn't get matched with my friends who are in silver. We've tried maybe like 7 times and they would always get instant queues while I would be waiting in the queue for a good 4 mins.

most of the accounts I used were around the same MMR i think (around plat level) so i would think if they did, i would be able to get matched with them, but I dont think they take it into account, since I get paired with both diamond and copper players all the time. Also, the 3 other accounts would get paired with each other almost all the time, but my account wouldnt

sorry to bump. someone just asked this question on a stream chat and said he had been looking for a while. hope he finds this.
the only way that i am aware of doing this is with virtual machine software like VMware(running windows inside windows, then starcraft inside each copy of windows.) the problem is that an application like starcraft might be too intensive for multiple instances to run stably. don't invest unless you are sure your system can support this. if you are looking to save money, unfortunately this route would not be much if at all cheaper than building a second computer. assuming you are doing it legally...
