Doesn't matter in the slightest. Any brand of CPU will work with any brand of GPU. "All one or the other" doesn't even make sense, since Intel doesn't make any GPUs (other than their terrible IGPs that noone that has ever had the intention of playing a game uses).

I need all the parts for the computer, a monitor, and a keyboard.(I can get an extra copy of windows 7) I currently am on an old laptop and want to be able to play sc2 at a higher quality, as well as not have random freezes while playing on low quality. Also overall just want a better computer service. Money i'd be willing to spend: ~800$ or so, but that includes cheap keyboard and cheap monitor, as I feel as if the actual computer hardware is more important. I do not need to spend that much money, but around there is what I'd be willing to spend (give or take 100 dollars or so). Now, If there are deals on NewEgg (the website I plan to use to purchase everything) on cyber monday and black friday, that'd be awesome, so maybe for each option possibly slightly more expensive, better alternatives in case there are deals. Thanks so much to everyone who responds in advance! please PM me the details as well as post here if you don't mind, because tomorrow until sunday afternoon I'll be at MLG!! Thanks everyone in advance; hope I'm not asking for too much work haha! EDIT: oh and I plan on upgrading it fairly slowly (probably 3 years or so) and it would be nice to be able to stream, but not super duper important. Thanks again This is a list of what you want if you want to be able to stream and play games on reasonably high settings: - Core i5 2300 / 2310 / 2320 / 2400 / 2500 / 2500k - ~$190
- H61 / H67 / P67 / Z68 motherboard - ~$70
- 2x4GB 1333MHz memory - ~$35
- Radeon HD6850 / HD6870 - ~$150
- Corsair CX430 V2 / Antec Earthwatts 380D or 430D / Antec Neo Eco 400C - ~$40
- any case - ~$40
- some DVD drive or burner - ~$15
- some overpriced 500gb 7200RPM HDD (Western Digital Caviar Blue, Seagate Barracuda) - ~$100
- 1080p monitor - ~$100
Components are listed from worse to best if you didn't figure that out so pay accordingly. does that build work together since isn't the Raedon AMD and the i5 is intel, so from what I thought I knew it had to be all one or the other? (I'm probably wrong) Thanks. Also some specifics would be awsome
The only thing you really have to match with the processor is the motherboard. Gpu's work as long as it fits your case and power supply.

Hello,
I'm going to build a computer in the near future but have absolutely no clue when it comes to hardware (Which is somewhat shameful when I think about the fact that I work as an software engineer).
My budget
1.000 € - 1.200 € (1.300 - 1.600 $)
Where am I?
Germany. One of our more well-known suppliers is www.alternate.com but they seem to be slightly overpriced?
Can I assemble it myself?
Sure.
What I don't need
- Monitors (I have two of them, both should be used) - Peripherals (I have Keyboard/Mice/Headset)
What I want to do
- SC2 on highest Settings -> duh.
- Streaming of SC2 in HD quality -> As I'm streaming tournaments I want the best possible quality for my viewers, upstream is not a problem, so the only thing holding me back will be the rig. I aim for 60 FPS if doable in that price segment.
- It should be as silent as possible -> The computer stands in my sleeping room and as I'm often rendering videos while sleeping it would be great if its as silent as possible. You can add the case of your choice to accomplish that as well as fans or whatever you need. I don't know if I have the craftmanship to properly set-up watercooling but if you deem it neccessary, I will take the journey.
- Soundcard should be good -> I plan to use my computer also for playing music over a high quality sound system in the future and movies, so a high quality sound card would be a really nice feature. If you can't fit it in the budget, I accept that.
How long should it last?
Approx. 2 years. As I need it now I cannot wait for the new technology and I dont really care if I have to play new games on "not-the-highest-settings" in 1 1/2 Year, as long as streaming will work smooth.
HDD
I dont really care for that. If you can fit it in the budget I would like one of those cheap 2 TB HDDs with low speed, because thats sufficient for me to store this and that. One HDD should be rather quick for FRAPSing and an SSD is absolutely optional. If you can fit it in the budget, fine, if not, whatever.
Something else?
I dont know, is something missing? I dont have a grudge against any kind of hardware producer, so use whatever piece you see fitting. If you need anything else, please let me know. As I know that it is kind of lazy to let you do the assembling for me, I should at least give you the most informations possible (I built my last computer myself and it was kind of ... sucky, so I'm reaching out for you guys with the experience and knowledge!)

Total: 1.199,43€
With shipping seems to go over budget >_> Could easily cut a few things though but let me know what you think
Also you should wait until the HDD prices go back to normal until you buy the 2TB HDD if at all possible, they're like 150+€ now when the normal pricing is in the 60s.

Hi i am looking to buy a new graphic card.
This is my PSU name: FSP450-60EMDN My specs: i7-2600 CPU @3.40GHZ 12gb ddr5 geforce 550ti
I consider my specs high end the big flaw is the graphic card and i guess the PSU aswell. If i could get a decent card with the orginal PSU, which one would you recommend and why?
By the way this is my PC http://www.pcadvisor.co.uk/reviews/desktop-pc/3306324/medion-akoya-p5704-d-review/ - it is a very small case so there is a space issue to consider too.
PS: i have a 23" monitor playing on 1920x

Intel is in bed with nVidia. That being said, you're still right.

This is the case. It is small but i figure it would enter in. The only problem i could only find 1 6pin PCI express instead of two. I think the 560 ti requires two. Any help? Is this also really the best card i can get with my PSU??

got spare molex cables?
Also, that pic doesn't say anything. Get a tape measure and measure the maximum lenght of a video card inside the case. Yep, you're going to open it up as well.

Please have a look at the following file. As you might remember i'm a total novice in this. Is the 560TI a good enough difference to make the purchase from a 550TI one? According to this chart: http://www.videocardbenchmark.net/high_end_gpus.html it's a fairly decent upgrade.
Find the website of the manufacturer of the card you want to buy, look up the actual size of the thing and measure it in your case. There is no way for us to look at a photo and be able to judge if it'll fit or not.
On a different subject: Your power-supply is fairly weak. I don't think there's much headroom left in the thing, so you may not be able to power the 560 Ti with that thing.
|
If there's not enough spare molex in that gigantic clump of cables... <_<
Yeah I see at least 3, okay that's good.
So a 6950 might fit in the case as there seems to be space but that might clump the cables so that I still would get a GTX 560 Ti myself, it's cheaper as well.
The performance would be about 1.7 times that of GTX 550 Ti.
If you think GTX 560 Ti isn't good enough, the card you should get is GTX 570. The performance would be about 2 times the performance of GTX 550 Ti.
Power supply's more than enough for either a GTX 560 Ti or a GTX 570 so don't need to worry there.

It's a bit more than 30 cm. But i guess 30 cm confortably. So the 3 spare molex will do the trick?

GTX 560 Ti would be like 19.5 cm on some models like 22.5cm on most others, 6950 would be like 26cm and more and GTX 570 would be around 27cm and on
You just need to use 2 of the spare molex with a molex-to-pcie 6pin adapter and you can use the one PCIe connector for the other 6pin cable.

It seems to me the cable are pushed forward and won't get stuck with a longer gfx card. I don't know if i'm explaining this well!
I'm gonna for a 570, if not in stock a 560TI!
Thanks for your help man
Btw the 560ti they sell there is a slighly overclocked one to 900mhz i think. And there were 2 x6pin pci express on the card itself. Does that mean to you anything?

try to not get a directCU or Windforce GTX 570 or something huge like that them, others should be fine I guess.

So I'm building a new computer, but I don't know much about hardware etc.
My budget is around ~6500CAN I'm looking for something that will be able to run SC2 and LoL on max at ~60fps with FRAPS running, and be able to do extensive Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, Graphite, and video editing work. Sometimes I do a few tutorials for subordinates, so I also need to record video while doing Photoshop and Illustrator, then edit it and dump it into company sharedrive. I already have 2 monitors, mouse, keyboard, and headset, so I don't really need any of that stuff. Looking for good cooling and good sound card too. Also looking for a solid upgradable case. The hard drive should be able to write stuff very fast, as this is crucial to work. Wanting this to last a little more than 3 years. Looking to build from NCIX. Thanks for your help!
|
Wah, my bad! I dont need the OS, so everything fits well into my budget. I would probably change to some cheap blueray thingy because I actually don't need the option to burn something - that case looks perfect!
The 2TB Thingy can wait, thats not a problem. But ... a basic HDD with .. I dunno, 500 GB - 1 TB with the pace to not interfere with FRAPS-Recordings would be quite helpful - or is it advised just to sit it out until prices get lower overall?
Is there anything I actually could use 16 GB Ram for?
Are there opinions of other users on this build? I trust your skill but ten eyes naturally see more than two ^^

hey there, I am having trouble deciding between single gpu, sli or crossfire. single card would be a gtx 580, or 2 gtx 560ti 2gb's, or 2 radeon 6950 2gb's. I don't know much about computers but if you guys could help give me some input, that'd be awesome!
