With 7500, you could get a SR-3 and 2 Xeons... and the rest for some other stuff...

I am going to build myself a computer for a birthday present to myself :D but the problem is that I have little knowledge about the parts, as in what are the best/most cost efficient parts. basically here is what I need:
everything but a mouse haha. I need all the parts for the computer, a monitor, and a keyboard.(I can get an extra copy of windows 7) I currently am on an old laptop and want to be able to play sc2 at a higher quality, as well as not have random freezes while playing on low quality. Also overall just want a better computer service. Money i'd be willing to spend: ~800$ or so, but that includes cheap keyboard and cheap monitor, as I feel as if the actual computer hardware is more important. I do not need to spend that much money, but around there is what I'd be willing to spend (give or take 100 dollars or so). Now, If there are deals on NewEgg (the website I plan to use to purchase everything) on cyber monday and black friday, that'd be awesome, so maybe for each option possibly slightly more expensive, better alternatives in case there are deals. Thanks so much to everyone who responds in advance! please PM me the details as well as post here if you don't mind, because tomorrow until sunday afternoon I'll be at MLG!! Thanks everyone in advance; hope I'm not asking for too much work haha!
EDIT: oh and I plan on upgrading it fairly slowly (probably 3 years or so) and it would be nice to be able to stream, but not super duper important. Thanks again

This is a list of what you want if you want to be able to stream and play games on reasonably high settings:

  • Core i5 2300 / 2310 / 2320 / 2400 / 2500 / 2500k - ~$190
  • H61 / H67 / P67 / Z68 motherboard - ~$70
  • 2x4GB 1333MHz memory - ~$35
  • Radeon HD6850 / HD6870 - ~$150
  • Corsair CX430 V2 / Antec Earthwatts 380D or 430D / Antec Neo Eco 400C - ~$40
  • any case - ~$40
  • some DVD drive or burner - ~$15
  • some overpriced 500gb 7200RPM HDD (Western Digital Caviar Blue, Seagate Barracuda) - ~$100
  • 1080p monitor - ~$100

Components are listed from worse to best if you didn't figure that out so pay accordingly.

Long story short, it's a terrible idea to build from Origin unless money is really worthless to you. If money means nothing to you, Origin will put together a good product.

The good people on this site (particularly SkyR since you're from Canada) will provide you a list of compatible components if you ask nicely and fill out the OP questionnaire (be specific on what you want to do, monitor situation, & budget). The top posters here are really, really good at that That's the hardest part of buying a new computer.

Then have NCIX build it and figure out what to do with your extra $600-$1000 dollars. And no, that amount of savings is not an exaggeration.

This is the build that I had in mind for my next computer. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated so that I can have the best build I can for under $1000 dollars. Eventually I would like to run SLI but just one gfx card for now. Also I will be dual monitoring. I do some work in maya and zbrush but not a lot. I would like it to be able to stream in 1080p. I mostly play LoL, Skyrim, Sc2, BF3, and Crysis 2.

What is a good SSD? im thinking i need no more than 64gigs.

If you're going to pour $7500 into a configuration. Please don't be a dumbass and at least get a core i7 3930k and probably quad CrossfireX / SLI. at the bare minimum. I rather pay NCIX to assemble for $50 than pay an American company a $1000 premium on whatever you want to waste your money on.

I'm thinking of getting a new build, but slowly upgrading.

Is the Gigabyte Geforce GTX 560 GPU any good?

The Kingston HyperX 8GB 1600MHz deal? Looks pretty good to me.

And maybe is there any good deal on a SSD. Looking for probably around 80-120gb. Also maybe a case.

Thanks!

For $25, it's not bad. Keep in mind that it is 1600MHz at 1.65v which is less desirable than 1.5v.

A GTX 560 for $150 after mail in rebate isn't anything amazing.

Corsair Carbide 500R is a decent deal and Antec Three Hundred for $35 is also decent for budget builds.

Well the company that I work for subsidizes half of the cost, so it doesn't really matter to me tbh.

I would not spend $200 on a HDD even with the supply issues.

Bad build.

TX750v2 is better in every regard than the original TX750. 750w is overkill for a SLI GTX 560 Ti and 2500k configuration. 650w variant will be adequate.

HyperX is 1.65v, you'll want 1.5v memory.

You shouldn't be paying for a Caviar Black right now even if you wanted the five year warranty provided by it, paying a $60 premium for two extra years of warranty is pretty stupid. If you're getting a SSD and want a 7200 RPM HDD, you'll want a Caviar Blue or Seagate Barracuda - 1TB is around $140.

You'll want an aftermarket heatsink.

For SSD, you'll want a Crucial M4.

AM3+ is for AMD processors.. not Intel.

You also do not want a 990x... you want a 3960x with a X79 motherboard.

You also do not want a 850w power supply. You'll want 1000w or better. Corsair AX1200 comes to mind.

You'll also want a 240gb SSD or whatever such as a Crucial M4 or Intel 510.

Whoever is giving you money is making a poor decision. Are you just browsing based on highest price? Please read the OP in this thread since you are so very far away from being knowledgeable that providing you feedback is actually not constructive at all.

I feel like this build is a troll build.

Even if a company is subsidizing your purchase, it makes more sense to a build a system that is in-line with your needs (not to mention actually runs), and your company will thank you for not squandering money left and right. At the moment I feel like I could sit you down in front of an $800 dollar computer and an $8,000 dollar one and you wouldnt be able to tell the difference.

So, what are your needs then?

I thought I saw a post of his after his ban (unless he got banned again) and then nowhere to be seen. I've read this thread from page 300 and forward and this thread isn't as much fun without him. Maybe he got tired of smacking clueless people around.

He was PMing me not too long ago so I know he is around somewhere.

Don't worry the good kind of PM, we are of similar mind, not the.... the other kind.

Components are listed from worse to best if you didn't figure that out so pay accordingly.

does that build work together since isn't the Raedon AMD and the i5 is intel, so from what I thought I knew it had to be all one or the other? (I'm probably wrong) Thanks. Also some specifics would be awsome
:O
