Hey, I recently started playing in Windowed (Full screen) mode and I was curious how people played.
I personally find it awesome, as it seems to be the best of both worlds without the negative impacts (At least I haven't had any of those issues). I can easily tab out of my game without the excessive downtime (Black screen) while not being distracted by IMs such as MSN.
So, I'm just curious if there's any downside I've not found and I guess this might also help people find a new feature they might have not tried?

Oh, my machine is pretty good, FPS always at 60 (Capped) so I didn't pick up on this.

I've been using maximized windowed ever since blizzard first implemented the feature in WoW, and i was very happy to see it in SC2, just like you, I can't seem to find any real downside to using it.

Used it ever since beta launched and haven't found a downside yet, so yeah I guess some things are just awesome :p

Not noticeable if your computer can handle it though.

Can't minimize when in full screen windowed mode.

What's the difference? I don't see a change besides in window full screen you cant't pick a resolution or change your gamma and hertz

Likewise, I've been using it forever in WoW and now SC2. I really don't see a downside, as I haven't personally noticed any FPS differences, but for some reasons many of my friends dislike windowed mode. Personal preference I guess.

Pressing Windows + D goes to desktop and minimises it, I believe.

I have to use full screen windows mode because otherwise my cursor doesn't show up >_>

I see no draw backs to full screen windowed mode so awesome that tabbing is like instant and everything .

If I open a folder it goes back to sc2, which is really annoying.

That IS the only real downside I have found too maxed windowed. I have yet to find a way to keep it minimized when I open a folder.

Icons? On a desktop? MADNESS.
I use Full Screen Windowed mode as well, very nice to jump to Livestream chats on the right display while playing on the left.

I messed around with full screen and windowed full screen to test FPS and found absolutely no difference. No downside to it. Although some times I have to tab back in and out a couple times because I think there is a bug with dual screen. Occasionally my mouse will still go between both screens and not lock itself on the SC screen.

i play windowed mode and my fps to be honest is BETTER if anything compared to fullscreen mode. Both works fine.. less alt-tabbing time with windowed FTW
