i voted for sc2 and i wont buy d3 i played titan quest and it was fun for like 30 hours, but then i didnt play it again because it was all the same and the game was so easy and tiring... it made me feel the same as wow did.
also i wont have time for d3 since i gonna be progamer in sc2

I voted for sc2 as well. mmorpg's were just never my thing although I probably will buy d3 since I never played d2. sc2 will be played 24/7 =o

that, plus i dont like how sc2 is developing so far :p

I was never into d2, so obviously SC2 is my pick.

I wish there was an option to vote for both. I don't really compare these types of games at all. It is like asking if Im more excited for ice creme or steak. Depends on if Im hungry for meal food or dessert food. Im excited for SC2 for competitive play/smack talking with friends, and D3 for relaxed loot grabbing/laughing with friends. As far as story goes however I would say SC2 wins slightly.

guild wars 2 does not count?

From what i've seen so far, i must say D3 ;o

I can't wait for sc2, and will play it a whole lot, but it still doesn't compare to how excited and giddy watching the d3 cinematic trailer makes me, I just love the world and story (and game) to death.

D3, no doubt. I played Starcraft 1 for 9 years and Diablo 2 for 3 years. I'd say that D3 shows many features I'm looking forward to when playing D2 and nothing new that annoy me. However, SC 2 gets rid of much essence from its predecessor with many replacements that are either boring or mediocre, and even weird. Besides, as an modern RTS team, the Starcraft 2 development team seems not so talented and not innovative at all, while D3 team shows good understanding of what they can do with new technoloy to improve their game.

Never even played D2. I did play the single-player mode of the original Diablo game... and honestly, I've had more fun playing Angband than Diablo.

Diablo 1 had a real "soul" and an awesome atmosphere. Diablo 2 was a mindless but addictive lottery. Dunno how D3 will be but i doubt it will have a "soul" like D1 so i won't be really interested. Maybe few weeks casualy like i did with D2.
Seriously just listen: + Show Spoiler + Top 5 all time best video game music hands down. ( Could even be #1 imo ).
Sc2 ... well i don't really know. There are tons of good things about this game ( UMS, cliff jump, some cool new units, lore etc ... ) but many bad things ( No Lan, auto mine, some cool units gone, mothership etc ... ).
So probably Sc2 but i'm not sure. Bw is still #1 in my heart compared to those two games :p

I am more excited about sc2 but not for the reasons most are probably putting down. I am excited for ums type games. I tried and failed to be good at sc and now I don't have the time or the mechanics to be good at sc2. However I know that ums can be a ton of fun in the casual manner which the op is talking about.

I enjoy playing 1v1 / 2v2 at D+ level tbh :p You don't need to be B+ or higher to enjoy bw.

MMORPG means MASSIVE multiplayer online role playing game - i.e. no "custom games", but one huge world with all the users playing with every other user logged on at the same time.
I voted SC2 simply because i've spent more time playing SC1 than D2 and D2 got boring to me after like 6 years (actually it was fun for like 4 years but then i got into multiplayer and then you lose all the fun after some time, cause you no longer want to waste few days bashing monsters, because taxi is more comfortable, and worst thing is that before playing multi every single stupid rare item with like +2 to all skills and some more good bonuses seemed like godlike, while on bnet after few hours of rune hunting/mfing/key hunting/anni or torch farming/etc etc you get runes for way more powerful items than after like month of for-fun farming from times before bnet), while SC1 is still entertaining.
Plus hell, SC had really entertaining plot, while Diablo's plot was like... Nonexistant :p
Still i'm gonna buy both and play SC2 campaing first (for great plot) -> multiplayer and D3 single player -> LAN with friends (unless they remove this option which would be stupid, since LAN doesnt kill all the fun from Diablo unlike bnet)

Maybe I am too pessimistic, but I always feel that Sc2 will only be another RTS while D3 has the opportunity to start a new era for ARPG. Wish that the release of Sc2 would prove my gloomy prediction to be false.

Man that Diablo Soundtrack - Tristram Village gave me the Chills...oh god I absolutely loved D1 & D2 when I was a wee lad, thx for the link

SC2!!!! Duh! ive been waiting 10 years and i want it out!!!!!!!!!!!!

I hate to admit it, but I really looking more forward to D3 >_< !
|
Of course a lot more people will be voting for SC2 on this site. Bring this poll to a Diablo fansite and you'd get the opposite results.
|
Do people still play Diablo? I've played the starcraft campaigns as well as the warcraft 3 campaigns but I don't think I've touched Diablo.
Should I play it? Diablo 3 looks really cool so I guess it would help if played the first two.
