Playing Diablo I and II would save you an hour or two worth of learning process for Diablo III at most.
You'll have your talent points as you level up (system launched in D2, refined in WoW), and you'll need to plan ahead on how to spend them. Apart from that, the game should be pretty micro intensive. You have your character, you use your attack and special abilities, bad guys blow up. You pick up loot, buy potions and equipment with it, and go back to kill more bad guys.

Figure out what a Unique item is.
Then try to get them, as they will augment/pimpout your character.
Oh, and adjust your skill points, wisely.

SC2, however, I absolutely LOVE D3... I´ve played both franchises to skinlessness

LoL and you have a better idea of how to attack enemies? Auto attack? You can use about as many hot keys as SC2... and probably can click just as often. I don't see your point...
Also, chilling out and having all nighters with friends is what D3 is all about... how often do you do chill out and have all nighters with starcraft. Playing starcraft is mentally INTENSE, as in you feel drained after it. Playing Diablo is more like getting stoned...

Diablo III easily wins this for me. I am far more excited for it. My interest on SC2 peaked about two or three months ago, now I just want the damn game and it's delayed on top of that!

both games seems really good, but i think SC2 cant compare to the feeling of BW. It will be hard i think. Diablo3 can easily compare to D2 because of the same kind of feeling when playing it.

I seriously doubt that holding left mouse button with my hammerdin is more damaging to my mouse or my brain than trying to reach 200 or whatever apm in order to beat a human opponent.
