Maru is probably the greatest GSL-player ever. But there are no third places in GSL. Also, Maru can be the best without op trolling:

He mentioned GSL doesn't have 3rd place and that its kinda pointles-ish because every GSL rewards with 2 3rd places

I know, and he proceeded to use it in his method anyway, hence my post.
And yes, Ro4 finish is impressive. Ro8 is also impressive, but proportionally less of course, so drawing a line at Ro4 is arbitrary, and inventing "Bronze" is just silly.

The OSL that Maru won literally ran instead of Code S that season, while having the same players/prize pool/was points. The reason it was called OSL instead of GSL was because OGN broadcasted the playoffs that season. SSL in 2015/2016 was basically the same as GSL as well. Just how proleague results are basically ignored in every GOAT discussion nowadays. Even though in SC2's prime is was more important than individual leagues for many players.
Imagine if Maru won 2 GSL in HotS instead of OSL/SSL. People would agreed he was GOAT for a while now.
