Alright, the idea here is to compile all of the best/first threads on a certain topic and put them into a single thread so that we can all link to the best information without having to trudge through 30 threads that relate to the same thing.
I wonder how/how well Battle.net is going to run SC2. I just read watched some of the videos of the WWI public interview on gg.net and it said SC2 will be on Battle.net. I was really hoping it would have its own domain. I can't make games for War3 or BW, so I'm hoping it doesn't do that same thing for SC2.

router problems? u can port forward or something like that, iono my computer programmer friend helped me out with that same problem, now i can host wc3 and sc games on bnet
Im not sure if its relevant enough but heres a thread that ill keep updating every day/week as soon as I get more info. Dont feel like bumping it every time I update it so might aswel link it in here ? Unit stats
Organizing everything like this will not only help people get to what they want to see in our forum, but it will also prevent people from making redundant posts.
if you like you could possibly link a few sc2 gameplay video mirrors, most people rather not use the blizz torrent, it barely ever downloads at the best speed, well at least not compared to utorrent.

I don't know how to port. I thought I did once and thought I fixed it, but still no one can join any of my games on either BW or War3.
select your router brand and number from the list in the bottom (if you arent sure it usually has it listed on the router itself, or you can do start -> control panel ->system ->hardware ->device manager and look for the router from the list) , it will then take you to a guide with screenshots (did for a few of them I randomly checked) on how to do port forwarding.
if that doesnt help, it could be the firewall your using.

its basically a really long Q&A with the designers, I'm sure you can just read the replies across the net (gamespy, ign, ect), but some people might actually like to see the source of the information for themselves.

You people are dumb~~

The people you described aren't really tl.netters <3
Does anyone have the video of the colussus walking through the forest environment? It's a quick video and I saw it on youtube right after the announcement, I haven't seen it since.
I can't find it all on youtube. It was very strange, I was watching the demo and was reading the comments and someone said "here's a new video..." then gave the last part of the youtube address, so I checked it out and it was different gameplay footage than what was shown at the WWI 20 minute demo.
I wonder if it was leaked footage??? All, I can say was the forest looked awesome in real time.
I havn't seen any kind of forest environment in SC2 only space/metallic ones. Are you sure you didn't mistake something else for starcraft 2 like some c&c3 vid?
No, it was definitely SC2. It was a colossus walking up several levels of forest environment. There were many green trees and what appeared to be individual leaves on each tree. It was a beautiful environment. When the colossus got to the top of the "hill" there were Terran units at the top.
The strangest thing is that I haven't seen this video since, but I thought I would be seeing it everywhere otherwise I would've saved the URL.
Anyways, does anyone know how I can get into Firefox history? I'll go through all of my youtube history for that night and hopefully find it.
smurg: please dont link the race rumour, since its false and is proven to be false unless blizzard are outright lying.
ggfobster & pachi: the movie showing them go thru grassy terrain is part of the artwork movie, you can find it on youtube or starcraft2.com and multiple other sites.
Thank you very much. It's a great topic...I'm not intending to spam here, but I have just to say...these green grounds are looking SO BEAUTIFUL. I just can't wait to see the other Terrains which will be implemented.

sclegacy.com?where you\'ll find forum gems like this (on a discussion on which units should be left out of SC2):
Hmm, I wonder why my thread on the map editor got closed. No I don't have a clue to how things work, I can only say what I'd like to see and then other people will have to judge how feasible it is to implement. Perhaps people missunderstood the V-tech joke. Anyway, I think someone else should create a better Map editor thread then because it's a huge part of what made both warcraft and starcraft so succesfull.
What do you guys think about idle worker notification and spell stack?
I genuinely liked the way wc3 did it. I hope SC2 follows suit. These micro things should be made easier for players to focus on strat. What's wrong with making the game easier for noobs?

Only this:
If you focus on streamlining gameplay to make it easy for everyone to get the most out of units, the major deciding factory would be strategy, and thus game balance would be the deciding factor of who wins. (The game WILL be imbalanced, since all races aren't identical.)
Great? Hell no!
So, leave lots of room for micro, control, and quite some room for better macro. The player should make the difference, not the game balance.
Edit: To clarify, I don't want automicro, but I don't see a problem with tweaked and improved macro.
Since that is topic too, I just like to thank you guys for placing the real deal in one thread. GW!
I agree with not having automicro, with the exception of medics. But how far can you tweak micro/macro without making it imba? Doubtless, pros would prefer less things to be tweaked than the average player, so it would then be a matter of perspective.
That said, I really like the WC3 spell casting function where only one spell caster activates rather than all of them at once (think storm). And it wouldn't be too imbalanced either, since hotkeying each spellcaster would result in faster and larger area of effects.
I JUS PURCHASED STARCRAFT BATTLECHEST at gamestop today and the dude was like you wanna pre-order any games? i was like you guys know when sc2 is coming out and the dudes like sec, "yea its coming out october 2, 2008, you wanna pre-order your copy?" i was like OMFG YOU SERIUS?", hes like yea thats what it says in the computer... so i just pre-ordered my copy of sc2 16 months in advanced.. anybody else hear anytihng of the release date other than when its ready? cuz apparently gamestop knows when the game is scheduled to come out...
Hey guys, If you want to add a clan website list to this thread, possibly add http://www.starcraft2.com.au, a pre-release developing SC2 clan for all those keen SC2 aussie players out there
http://www.mtv.com/overdrive/?id=1561760&vid=156520 Here's an MTV interview, it's not new and does not include anything recent but for the sake of posterity, maybe it should be in the first post :D (ok so I'm sure future generations won't be hurt by it not being included but still! the more the merries, and yes I looked the word up to make sure I was using it correctly).
