If this turns out to be true... Even if Life is still young, this is inexcusable. With the frequency of these situations appearing lately i don't think the scene will really recover from this, at least in Korea.

Innocent until proven guilty.

They say a man never really knows himself... until his freedom's been taken away. I wonder.... how well does he knows himself ?

First I will blame KeSPA, cause really Life is just a kid and he should have been protected from the influence of match fixers. The fact such a star, in one of the biggest team, can fall in that trap just shows how KeSPA is totally unable to fight illegal betting.
Savior was kind of a first, so the element of surprise can be taken into account. If after all the warning and rumors KeSPA failed again to protect themself against illegal betting (cause this scandal will severly damage their business) it may just mean they're not able at all to be an esport organization.
For KeSPA, this failure would be an humiliation. CEO should resign at the very least.
Second, I would blame the Korean system as whole, because if illegal betting is so strong it can humiliate KeSPA this hard, it means legal authorities are just inefficient in preventing it.
So peole can accuse Life of killing sc2 korean pro scene all they want, they can insult him all thread long, fact remains that the problem is not about a kid fucking up his career, the problem is about a system that is unable to prevent it.
Anyway, I still hope he can be innocented, even if the future look very grim for him. Well Kespa aint gods, there is no one that can prevent crimes before they happen. You blame kespa for for not preventing it, how about I blame you if your friend/family-member/relative/aquaintence breaks the law or commits suicide. Its your fault for not preventing it and for letting it happen.
You can't prevent someone from hitting someone else, stabbing them or stealing from someone. You can't prevent it before it happens, the only thing you can do to even come close to what you describing is leading the way and effecting them through being a role-model and supporting person in their life. If kespa reared Life from when he was born then maybe you could argue what your arguing, I still wouldn't agree with you but then at least they would have had the chance to effect his growth and psychological evolution.
What do you propose having an actual physical kespa jail where players are isolated with no phone and no internet so matchfixers won't ever be able to contact them?

it's not that they should be blamed for everything, it's that in any reliable company/enterprise managers are held responsible of the way the business is dealt with. since they rule over the business (and rule very strictly and single-handedly btw) they should atleast recognize their mistakes when something goes wrong

Maybe life betted on others games and not himself? Or maybe he has a terrible gamble addiction and he needed that money because all of his money is already gone?
Hmm, new account with one post? Checks out.
Hope i did the quote right. I just said what i just found out. I had a older account here, but i didnt logged in for over 2 years. I forgot my password and email i used for it.
I understand that i have no proof, or else somebody else would have it. I just heard it on the stream of Neuro JUST like i said. I Didnt say it was TRUe, damn read the message again. I just asked, and people wondering why O why Life did this.
Most people can speculate and doesnt matter you guys talk back. Because i have 1 post you seem to worry.
I am saying now that i am not a troll, i thought it was a FACT because most people know he has a gambling (addiction, or love for it)
It was just a thought, please relax people.

This somehow de-legitimises the past couple of years of Starcraft for me.
It makes me question how much money teams like EG spent on making their players look good by having Koreans throw games, or just stoke the drama machine.
Really sad...

Not a fact that thats the reason, but its much better then the 40 page shit on the other topic where nobody even said this.....

I really don't understand why people act surprised about such things. Since there is betting on Strafcraft, there will be match-fixing. Opportunity will attract criminals, always!

Mister, KeSPA is not a big brother; it cannot watch everything that happens to the players unless KeSPA puts players into KeSPA Jaol and taps every telephone that players have.
It's their business, they have to protect it, it's like pro cycling : when one big star falls, the entire organization is shaking. Being free of illegal betting is one of KeSPA's most important task. If they fail, their whole business is damaged.
If Life is guilty, it's a huge fail for KeSPA and all the sc2 korean pro scene will be on the verge of collapsing. Do you really think people will watch sc2 instead of other games is this is confirmed? You really think sc2 would become popular again? It's not like it's very healthy at the moment.

So if it turns out Life did something like this, what should KeSPA have done to prevent it?

Oh man, if Life winds up being found guilty for this, what a total disaster. Let's hope there's been a mistake or misunderstanding somewhere. I guess we'll have to wait and see.

Players are not mindless robots Kespa has control off. When a 18 years old boy wants to throw matches for money for whatever reason he has, it is not Kespa who can just stop the malfunctioning robots and reboot him.
The players are still individual human beings and act like them. Kespa can try to help and tell em to not commit crimes, but in the end it is the individual human who commits the crime, not the one who gives you your paycheck. What shall Kespa do, when a star players says to himself, that he wants to earn more money then he earns at the moment and likes to use illegal actions for that? Liedetectortest every week?
The players are still individuals and individuals who commit crimes.
