This goes for other players too. -The_Templar

To be honest, it doesnt matter how much money Life makes/made. Lately there have been some match-fixing problems even among top 10 tenis players and hell, they make a lot of money. No you cant say that here, its just speculation. Korean sc2 players are holy and they cant do that, cant you understand?? You have to wait until he is in prison, then you can compare it to tennis. /sarcasme 80% of this forum off. User was warned for this post

From OP: "Prosecutors did not reveal specific charges beyond the fact that they were related to StarCraft match-fixing in 2015, saying the investigation was still ongoing." ? That's another good point. So this obviously isn't the game(s) in question. Another TLer made a good point: we could go through every game Life has lost recently and a find elements in it that support our bias.

Anyway i also think KeSPA is hugely responsible here, because simply applying capital punishment is not enough (regardless of the accused being Life this time). They are responsible of creating a protective environment for the competing players and teams against outsiders. That said one could also recognize how much bizarre the Korean SC2 System as a competitive sport is, with both individual and team leagues, especially Proleague is prone to match-fixing as simply not choosing the right opponent by the coach would do. In Formula one any contact between different team mechanics is a crime, now compare that with Proleague where the players are actually friends.

Until I met Startale, Bomber, Life...yes, life always finds a way. And there was about a year when I sunk into SC society, I was so fond of professional gaming, dedicated my enthusiasm and time, my love and hope inside it. It actually saved me from a bad relationship, a period that there was no friends, no dates, no good school grades, nothing but those matches. It used to be my love and my life. Then I had my life. My own life that had almost everything I was eager to, everything but Starcraft. I fulfilled my dreams in reality, and forgot those who comforted me in the longest and coldest nights. Now I chilled again in such a dark winter. Maybe - maybe this is the last time I login this account and visit you. I cannot recall names of all of you but I remember Zealously and so...Maybe this is my farewell, my forgotten farewell and a gratitude that SC2 deserved two years ago. My SC2 heart is broken. But I can always close it up somewhere else. Goodbye my friends. Goodbye Life.

First I will blame KeSPA, cause really Life is just a kid and he should have been protected from the influence of match fixers. The fact such a star, in one of the biggest team, can fall in that trap just shows how KeSPA is totally unable to fight illegal betting. Savior was kind of a first, so the element of surprise can be taken into account. If after all the warning and rumors KeSPA failed again to protect themself against illegal betting (cause this scandal will severly damage their business) it may just mean they're not able at all to be an esport organization. For KeSPA, this failure would be an humiliation. CEO should resign at the very least. Second, I would blame the Korean system as whole, because if illegal betting is so strong it can humiliate KeSPA this hard, it means legal authorities are just inefficient in preventing it. So peole can accuse Life of killing sc2 korean pro scene all they want, they can insult him all thread long, fact remains that the problem is not about a kid fucking up his career, the problem is about a system that is unable to prevent it. Anyway, I still hope he can be innocented, even if the future look very grim for him. if this was an isolated incident pre-savior scandal, you MIGHT be able to make an argument for him there, but he knew the damage he was doing to the scene, no way he didn't know.

Webber and Alonso Sutil and Hamilton (till the Shanghai thing happend) and many more. Its even easier to be a friend with a driver from another team then from your own team.

The worst thing about fixing matches is that it doesn't diminish how talented the player was ![]() It just hurts everyone in the scene.

He didn't say that the top ten tennis players are fixing matches, but several top players (including Novak) have explicitly stepped forward to say that they have been approached and offered money to throw matches: http://www.si.com/tennis/2016/01/18/novak-djokovic-offered-money-match-fixing That's not the same as actually doing it, and jeeeKyyy didn't say they fixed matches. His point was that athletes can and will be given such offers, regardless of how successful they are.
