I hope KeSPA can seek and destroy every single player who ever matchfixed in SC2 in the following month, else SC2 will become the Pro Cycling of eSports and will die sooner than expected.

I hope that there will be still players left to play the game after that.
Or what if KeSPA is actually part of the scheme ? That would be funny.

Absolutely hilarious

Too hilarious to even laugh.

I can't say I care very much. He doesn't play my race. He committed a crime and got arrested. I'll still play the game regardless of this news.

I normally don't like zergs or terrans but here are a few exceptions and life was one of them

Yes, both of these scenarios are possible, sadly.

I think we should be careful about trying to hunt down VoDs of games where he fixed, because we really don't know which games it was (and don't even have any confirmation that he's guilty yet, technically). So if you try to look for "signs" of matchfixing in games you just end up with confirmation bias (i.e. "he smiled", "he did a big misplay", etc become proof of matchfixing whereas they're really pretty normal things)

That's quite the conspiracy theory right there

I guess it doesn't look good? As i said before if even Life felt the need to fix matches (assuming that's true), i don't know what that tells us about the korean scene as a whole. Nobody will ever talk about it, but quite frankly it has to be horrible for pretty much 90% of the players. I wonder if it's all worth it... Meh

one thing's for certain, KeSPA is not having huge success in preventing this kind of stuff from happening. after sAviOr case they were very vocal that despite the damage done a zero-tolerance policy was all they needed to stop corruption among pros, guess they were very wrong. should have worked in depth to eradicate bad habits and menaces at the source. If it comes out a top SC pro can be easily blackmailed/addicted to gambling and stuff, it would mean the eSports organizations did not do enough to protect professional scene from these threats. KeSPA representative should wage some kind of responsability for that.

Someone with Lifes' amount of winnings wouldn't be doing it out of some need for the money. It would have to be another reason. Doesn't say much about the scene IMO, just the person who does it.

Prime and co, well we all know what was going on there.

Like someone posted earlier, it would make sense if its some trace from the original 12 people involved in the Prime scandal that lead to this. Either way something must have lead to them getting real proof on Life matchfixing. My first thought: the only reason we got to know they had Life arrested was because he was supposed to play a game. How do we know that they don't have any additonal people arrested along with Life? Would make sense for it to take this long to really uncover everything and then arrest multiple people.

It would not make sense for them to wait for his birthday because if koreas justice system is anything like the european ones its the age you are at when you break the law that effects the judgement not when you are arrested for it.

They have announced Life is getting charged with match-fixing and that they will keep investitgating, it sounds like Life is all they got but we can't be sure.

Also I'm pretty tired of the whole "don't discuss the situation if you don't KNOW whats going on", this is a thread for discussing the situation. Since when is a discussion only filled with "THis is bad for the scene" and "Fuck my Life" and every other post is getting critized for containing subjective thoughts or opinions. Thats what a forum is btw, where you go to share subjective thoughts and opinions.

Well if Life feels the need to do this I am actually not sure we can trust anyone within the scene..
Life if anyone should be able to make a living out of the game without needing extra moneys.

So this is the game that Korean scene's the most suspicious about.

Especially because on Korean version of the vod, casters said that something like this cannot happen, and Life smiled when he saw Solar's zerglings that he couldn't defend, and at 3:00, Life had a weird face for a moment when the overlord turns after him seeing the creep.

Didn't see any facial expression change at the time the overlord changed direction.

He didn't start smiling immediately after seeing Solar's zerglings. Only when they got into his main. That could have been a smile out of frustration. An "Oh, you're all-in" sort of smile.

But why would he want to avoid scouting Solar? Did he know that Solar was going 10pool and so wanted to avoid seeing the lings leave? Is it something that Solar always did in ZvZ back in 2014?

how mirrored is this to savior's story lol. jumps into the scene, revolutionizes something (zergling control), becomes a god, falls, starts slumping, match fix. good lord.
