So,
I am in Bronze. 1v1.
I beat about 4 silver players just now with ease - ranked.
Still bronze... says I'm rank 2, it's been on 'rank 2 ' for a month now. wtf.
Anyways, I played some guy today who clearly was pro - but he was still doing his 5 game placements.
Is there a way I can re-do my 5 game placements?
Desperate to get out of bronze.

if you leave league, you will end up in bronze again. just be patient and paly more games, you will get up to silever again.

Only if you play one complete season no 1v1. Then your MMR is reset. You could leave league but I had somewhat the impression that this does not change anything besides putting you in another division same league. But have you already played 25 games? Before this the system is still in calibration phase and hesitant to promote you. But at the same time your MMR adjusts faster. The first win after the 25th game is pretty reliable to give you a promotion (if you deserve it).

Playing better(win more or having more %wr) rewards very quickly in SC2. Beating silver players doesn't mean that you should be silver instantly rather it means, those players are at the bottom of their bracket and you are at the top. This also means if you continue to win more, you'll rank up eventually.

Don't worry about your league. Just keep improving your play one by one. Focus on your macro, micro, hotkeys, camera keys, apm, or whatever. You'll improve and eventually get out of bronze. Good luck!

One of those threads... never give up man!

4 games is nothing lol, if your confident in your play just keep on playing, youll get there eventually.
also remember that your opponents are determined by mmr not league.
|
You can buy a new copy of SC2 and that will give you a new account which, I can almost promise that to you, will end up in bronze anyway. The system is quite good in putting people where they belong. If you want a shiny icon in your profile, you have to work on actually improving your play, not gambling the system.

if your able to beat silver players like top ones. once you get promoted to silver you will top silver. once you get there and you play silver players you do well. you start playing gold then top told, youll get promoted to top gold. thats how it normally works. just keep playing dude. take the losses for what they are at the end of the day your not a pro. just a game for shits and giggles.

The MMR system is not flawed. I went from Bronze to Gold in around 30 games, so just keep playing and focus on macro, the rest will eventually come.
|
The fact that you face silver player has a bronze does not mean that they have a better MMR than you ( actually those a probably low silver, and low silver has lower MMR than high bronze ) . I remember facing Maters player while i was in diam because my MMR was high but i did not yet got promoted.
You're in the right way, keep playing.

Damn. Impressive. I'll keep on fighting then. Thanks.
Thanks guys. I'll keep on playing.
Also - I am rank 2 - does that mean I am close to silveR?

There is no direct relationship between division rank and how close you are to silver, it mostly depends on how active the players in your division are. Still, if you are an active player and ranked highly, it is quite likely that you are close to promotion.

Not necessarily.
Ranking in your division is based on your points, while promotion is based on your hidden mmr. Because bonus pool exists, the players at the top of a division are the ones who simply play enough to spend all their bonus pool, regardless of their mmr. Especially in lower leagues where there are likely more inactive players.
For example, someone with a 10-0 record will be ranked under someone who is 53-57, because the first guy will still have 300pts of bonus pool still stocked up, but he will still probably have the higher mmr and will be closer to a promotion.

Even a 60% win ratio will get you out of bronze very quickly.
66.67% is winning 2 games for every loss - you don't have to be nearly that good for your MMR to rise fast

It's probably worth mentioning that there is an awesome Ladder Guide on TL, where a lot of misconceptions are debunked.

Just keep playing dude.
If you should be Silver you'll get promoted. Worrying about it seldom helps.

u need to play at least 7 games vs higher division and your percentage of those games needs to be above 50% to get promotion. To start over again u need to sit entire season without playing playing solo ranked

You get promoted when your MMR rises above the boundary of the next higher league. That's it. Why do people keep coming up with these complicated rituals to explain league placement when the League and Ladder guide has been pinned in this forum for four years?
