Gave up on playing this mission on brutal and went down to hard. The next two missions seemed fairly easy in comparison but damn this level sucked.

I just massed Blink Stalkers and eventually just suicided stalkers into the last core while my base got overrun
I took over the Protoss base at bottom of map but they sent Hybrid + Immortals so not worth holding it

Another vote for the suicide dive method. I guess there might be a chance if I can take one of the other bases on the map, but base defence gets super hard towards the end.

well, people wanted a brutal level that was truly difficult, so i guess they got it...

i did the first 2 campaigns on hard but decided to switch to brutal for this one since i play protoss in multiplayer. this mission changed my mind lol

i thought the difficulty was good on this one, disappointed to hear it gets easier again

beat it rather easily on brutal, just had to load saves twice when i was out of position and an attack ruined my base. was losing my base as i was killing the last constriction

im a little disappointed with the dragoon model, i wish they were a bit bigger. i actually prefer the dragoon and reaver models from sc2:mass recall to the ones blizzard did

and i also wish the loading screen would require a click to move on, i went to fetch some food after this mission and actually missed the cutscene with the spear of adun

Blink stalkers man. The trick is to not ever lose a major battle. The moment you lose your army it's gg. You can't rebuild and survive the 4th/5th attacks.

Initially had some trouble with this - enough to come here - but then realised that there's a very simple trick to this mission, even on brutal.

Besides the first Power Cell that's to the immediate right of your base, never 'de-creep' a Power Cell until you've cleared out the units around all 3. The enemy will barely reinforce, so once you've gotten rid of the units and structures around all 3 southern cells, rush between each one and take them out while your base is crumbling. Ended up being pretty easy doing it this way.

Can probably even avoid taking out the first one to the right of your base, but the retaliation from that one isn't really severe enough to warrant it.

Yeah this took me about three loads. Pretty hard mission but suiciding on the last one did the trick.

I found this one pretty easy even on brutal with just mass blink stalker, didn't even have to suicide, only took 1 try. My strategy was just mass blink stalkers and making a wall of gateways in front of ~2 cannons in front of ~2-3 shield batteries. With good blink micro you should hardly lose any units, and the cannons + batteries + a warp in or two will stop most attacks.

edit: Okay, watching it myself I made a lot more than 3 cannons. Still, basic idea is plenty of static d and good micro.

Finally a brutal campaign which is really brutal? Great! Because WOL and HOTS were not so brutal as what I would expect from this word.

Failed this 3 times on brutal. The important info that I'm surprised no one has mentioned yet is - leave the rightmost power cell, the one you need to fight through a bunch of ultras to get to, for last.

You could start with the power cell directly to the right of your base, go a little further to find and power a warp gate there, then backtrack and start taking out the rest of the power cells in anticlockwise direction.

Basically all the other power cells trigger pretty easy to hold attacks, except the rightmost one which just literally releases all hell. Which frankly is a little silly because there was no hint in the mission that you should be doing these in any particular order. Anyway I figured this out on my third attempt, and when I left the rightmost cell for last in my fourth attempt, it was pretty easy.

zealot/stalker just isn't a very good composition against zealot/dragoon/scout/ling/hydra/muta/ultra

I agree with suiciding at the end. Also I'd avoid powering any of the gates until the end, to avoid any hidden triggers

I found this mission straight forward on brutal. Just put 6-7 cannons and 2 shield batteries on each ramp. Then use fully upgraded blink stalkers.

With good micro, you don't even need to sucide your army. Although when killing the last core, you will need to scrifice your main base.

I thought after my pause of SC2, I couldn't even complete brutal but I'm glad in a way I'm not the only one. Yep, brutal is too much but I find hard easy. Something in between would have been ideal.
