Q: What do you feel when about to win?
A: I am been under a lot pressure lately; and my pocket money is running little, haha. Of course I am very happy. I just learnt that I hadn't had an offline championship. I've thinking about getting stronger, but pre-match preparation is more important. I used to prepare foreign touranments more. But this time I spent a lot to prepare. And it paid.
Q: What do the tournament and championship mean to you?
A: A self-assurance. Because I've won so many online tournaments, an offline one is a completion of some sort.
Q: How did you cope with going to Shanghai alone?
A: It is all right. But second-hand smoke in the Internet cafe is somewhat a headache. It is a closed area and you get literally headaching if you play long enough. So I just spend less time there.
Q: You lost to
Jim twice in a short time span.A: He is really unique and aggressive. I'm not good at defending, either. Neither do I have enough time to prepare for him. I had had another game a day before that. Improvising gives Protoss a lot of advantages. And he didn't make mistakes, either. Very regrettable.
Q: After losing to Jim, you immediately 3-0'd XiGua. How did you adjust.
A: I actually had a nice chat with Jim, we shared some experience of PvZ, and analysed the game, which helped me to restore myself.
Q: Did you prepare anything special for Top?
A: I watched his previous games. I prepared more details of defence and the opening.
Q: How did you feel when you got the match point?
A: I just told myself not to be complacent
Q: Any improvement you found needs to be made?
A: I am satisfied with most part of this tournament. Maybe I can be more relaxed during the games. I could feel the nerves during the final.
Q: What's your new goal?
A: I hope I can make more betterments and be stronger. Also more money. Haha.
Q: You had been switch from one team to another. How's your life at ZoO, especially recently?
A: I had never stabilised my career until I came to ZoO. But we came into a dissolution crisis not long ago. But now we have stabilised and my training quality has been assured. I am very satisfied with life now.
Q: Let's talking about your trainee programme. How do you like your new role as the player-coach?
A: We are good friends with shared interests. Only more conversation and stronger players can make Chinese SC2 more competitive, which is what I hope to see.
Q: Give us some comments about the trainees.
A: Everyone is fantanstic!
NeverSteam is most amazing. He was a top player already after 2-week training! I was surprised, too. But it has be said that it is partly because Protoss is too imba.
Sakya just beat ForGG on ladder today (25 Jan). He is a player with his own ideas, and hard work. But unfortunately he picked Zerg! There might be time before he makes things happen.
Zycart now has very good marine spread, top of the class! I've never seen a player with such mouse control. He could be the next InnoVation if working harder and diversifying his styles.And I am really glad Kurafi is back. We've been friends since long ago. He used to be micro and macro in WoL. Now he is very stylistically diversified. We could see him next season in WCS, I believe.
Q: A lot of your peers are either retiring or switching to other games, why didn't you?
A: I think they did so because they had lost passion for it. But I for most part live in my own world, perhaps. The self-hypnotism is well done, had to be said. I've actually considered a switch, but that's a subject for the future.
Q: Anything to say to the youngsters?
A: If you know what you want, then join us and do it!
Q: Last word?
A: I thank everybody for their support, especially the team. We might announce news of a new sponsorship in a few days. I thank NeverSteam and Kurafi for training with me. Without them there cannot be this champion.
