I haven't played on this map yet, so my opinion could be screwed a bunch. This map seems to favor, by a massive amount, for Swarmhost + Mech + Turtle-y Protoss styles You can't be serious?... Open that map. Really.
Yeah, once you actually play the map and realize how the layout is done, you just leave the game and think "OK, one veto gone".

Actually it's just that the meta that changed. Which is the reason why you don't see blink all in anymore even in maps like catallena where it's really good.

Man, not looking forward to these. I really don't like Deadwing, and haven't played much of Foxtrot Labs. I'm sort of okay with Catalena as at least I know where I can take a third at, and have some clue as to a fourth.
Expedition Lost looks like a mighty fine map for a 2-base all-in, especially a Soultrain. Might be playable; I'll have to get out there and try it out. Not certain where I'll put my third.
Secret Spring looks dreadful. I'm a Protoss player, and I can already taste the thousands of frustrated tears of people trying to handle Blink play there. I'm normally okay with a glass or two of my enemy's tears (refreshing!) but this will be a tidal wave. Also, I don't think anyone look at this yet, but would it be possible for a tank to go on that long, thin land behind the natural and bombard workers?
Vaani Research Station looks playable. At least I know where I'll go for a third, and the backdoor natural is a twist. There's a lot of air space for drops there.
Inferno Pools looks like a dull macro map I'll have to play. Maybe walling off the far side of the Gold for third base? The third 'normal' base looks like hell with that gigantic ramp you could never choke off. EDIT: Remembered the island. That'll be either base 3 or 4, then try for the gold.
So my Vetos: Deadwing (zzz); Secret Spring, and Foxtrot Labs. Playing: Inferno Pools, Vaani Research Station, Catalena, Expedition Lost
Upsetting that I have to veto two of the same maps from last standard season.

No, if see Catallena and KSS (specially KSS) theres a lot of blink play, on KSS is pretty damn undefendable, I know a more protoss friendly map pool was the point but having such good blink map is just a bad idea

So Nathanias brought Kappa Starleague back and did a bo7 between Ryung and Hyun and HyuN just showed how a 7rr will just kill a terran on horizontal spawns on Inferno Pools... I fear if they keep those spawns enabled.

I find it weird that the GSL will use it, but not the other WCS tournaments or the ladder. Is Blizzard maybe adding a new 5th map, or replacing one of the previosuly announced ones?

Blizzard won't change their stance, GSL is simply using a different map pool which is apparently okay, if only foreign tournaments would adopt this.

I actually do blink builds all the time on catallena, as does parting and a few others out there. People are just terrified of widow mines, so they don't risk it, but as parting showed vs flash on that map, you can execute a blink all-in vs widow mines and still win

fuck me why does blizzard keep trying to make maps.

Still no updates? They can't seriously keep those horrors, not a single one of those additions is playable

That's much better looking than anything else. Looks like it could favor some macro play (bases look a bit defensible), but the rush distance is close enough to let aggression happen.
I'm assuming the name is Impregnable, and that cross positions are forced.
