Well only pros getting to vote isn't an ideal situation either, because 95% of the player body, who is casual, does not get to be represented, and thus, doing more damage than good to those who simply enjoy playing the game.
This vote isn't good for the pro scene, but it's good for the game.

Why does the results button not work for me? Can anyone see what the score is atm?

The idea is you can't see them, so it doesn't impact your vote. Since then others could tell you what the vote is at before you vote. It makes sense.

Then why is the button there? I've already voted.

I'd rather have new maps.

I voted:
Steppes - we just have to see how HotS looks like on the worst map of all time (pace Jungle Basin). Shakuras - I have so many fond memories with this map. Albeit this version doesn't have backdoor rocks. Cloud - This map makes for great TvZ, albeit Protoss blinkers will be a pain to deal with. Xel'naga - The best map of 2010 (arguably) and revenge on Protoss players if they get Cloud. Antiga - Probably unplayable against P, but this map produced so many good games in WoL. Metalopolis - my all time favourite map. Those close spawns air and ground... Mayhem ensured. Akilon - Sometimes a man just likes to turtle...
If we get even a part of these maps, I might try laddering again for good old times sake.

This is a grand idea, so many fond memories of these maps!
Voted for Steppes for the yolo's.

Fuck steppes.......
Shakuras, Cloud, Metalopolis, Tal darim altar, Lost temple

I'm really interested to see how games will play out on most of these maps. But my heart goes to Metalopolis. Give me that map back! :D Where I learned how to use infestors correctly. Where I learned how to defend 4 gates. How I learned how to be cheesy with sneaky gold bases. Where I learned 2 base mutas. Where I had a few fond games vs LzGaMeR in ZvZ. So many good memories.

oh got, please, i don't wanna play stepps, at least we got some vetos :D

Man none of these are actually "old school". I was really hoping for some more WoL beta maps, damn shame.

steppes might have high chances to get into the map pool because of the troll votes.

xnc, ohana, daybreak, ck, yeonsu, neo planet s and bel'shir are my votes! really hope daybreak gets in, god, I loved that map ( especially in TvT).

I'm more interested (and concerned) with what the IEMs/DHs/HSCs (?)/any other tournaments that are going to happen in Season 4 choose to use as their map pool. Will they go with S3? Will they use a S3/S4 composite? Will we see professional games on Steppes of War? Now that is a more reasonable question. I assume that the tournaments will use mostly the Season 3 map pool to do their events, but there's no telling what might happen. Having broken maps on the ladder again is kind of funny, but having them used when their are thousands of dollars on the line is pretty bad. Perhaps they will take out the silly ones for events and leave ones in that are old, but still fairly balanced (I could see Cloud Kingdom or Shakuras Plateau still being used in an event) While CK was balanced enough in WoL it's architecture doesn't carry over to HotS nearly as well. For starters, mothership core + blink here will break Terran harder than it did on Yeonsu. There's good reasons why transplanting old maps into modern meta breaks things. Every time this was tried in BW "balanced" maps from old were inevitably broken in the modern meta because the game evolves (Nostalgia is a great example of this, ironically).

No it isn't, these maps suck horribly, are ridiculously imbalanced, and promote the type of play pretty much everyone complains about.

I like this!!!
Tired of the No Rush 15 mins games, hopefully we see something like this at Pro Level too.

Well the type of play I complain about is the 2 hour turtle stalemate type, and a few of these maps really go out of their way to discourage that style...
