That aside, was hoping to see more of EffOrt in Code S/Proleague :/

CJ Entus! Noo! Losing two of my favorite players from their team. herO better not leave...
I hope Effort and Hydra find good teams and we see them soon.

What the hell is going on? Koreans leaving everywhere all of a sudden... Hope they won't have the wrong expectations about the "foreign dream".
|
what is going on? so many code S koreans cutting themselves loose
|
It's been real guys. Thanks for everything and good luck in the future

who of all these koreans is Liquid going to pick up? Taeja is retiring soon... freeing up some funds?
|
Fantasy, Myungsik, Hydra then EffOrt... Man... What's next...
Man... This is another sad day. Hope he stays around. He made code S !

Now we only need foreign teams looking to hire.

I don't get the reason behind this..
IS IT -
a) - easy money in the foreign scene ?, or b) - KeSPa is getting broke ? (which I honestly doubt it)
It's really weird.. WHY ?? - everyone thought that the problems with region-locks would affect the other guys, not the Koreans that already compete in GSL/Proleague :/

I'd really like to know what's going on behind the scenes, why these players are leaving. I hope that they do have some solid plans going forward, I don't want to see another LYGF or Dear (although it is good he got pickup by Samsung afterwards).

Star players leaving teams to go abroad isn't good for the scene or sponsorships at all. This is a very bad thing for Korean SC2.

What is going on with Korean Sc2? Were the last finals a financial failure?
|
Seems like Korean players are thinking that SC2 is only sustainable in the foreign scene. While the Korean SC2 scene has had some improvements, I do not blame them.

But isn't Kespa jail better now that a TL writer is there too?
Better question: will Lichter be let out if Kespa starts to falter?

Why do so many people here seemingly have such trouble understanding the reasons behind these player's decisions? Most of the times it's stated right there in the announcement or the exit interview ... All you have to do is read.
Players want to experience other things than be chained to KeSPA for all their careers. I doubt it's a money issue, since the steady income of being on a KeSPA team outpaces what most people make from attending big "foreign" tournaments especially if you deduct the travelling costs for attending. I doubt it has much to do with the region lock either, as that makes it harder for lots of Koreans to get at that "easy foreign money" not easier.

Team switches happen every year, but I don't remember a time when so many team ace's didn't renew contracts.
