Russian macho Zerg player sLivko is now a free agent after his former team, Virtus.pro closed down their StarCraft II division to focus on other disciplines. sLivko was the last player on the team - most of the players on the team had already been let go at the end of 2012, and this included players such as Verdi, Siw, Revolver, Turuk and Roll amongst others.
Virtus.pro follows the trend of the big Russian and Ukrainian organisations cutting loose their StarCraft 2 divisions. Ukrainian behemoth Natus Vincere disbanded their team in November 2013, RoX have an inactive lineup, with their last active competitor, LiveZerg, departing last May, whilst Team Empire has also significantly downsized their roster to retaining their ace, Happy and an academy team. The proverbial torch of Russian and Ukrainian eSports in SC2 passes on to new organisations such as Cascade and Vega Squadron. Whilst their contribution is valiant, they are still far away from offering the prestige posed by the four big organisations in the CIS (Na'Vi, Virtus.pro, RoX and Empire).
sLivko will be continuing his eSport career, whilst Virtus.pro's aspirations lie with The International 4 and Dota 2.

Even though VP is going to the international, they're betting their chances on making it through the qualifiers which can still be considered risky knowing are MVP (from the sc2 scene, koreans could easily be the dark horse), Liquid, and CIS are their competition... however, as much as i hate to admit it slivko hasnt done much, alot like some of the other pros...

I think a lot of it has to do with prestige and brand awareness. Compare how well known and respected VP is in dota to sc2, then bear in mind they are at the dota level in every other game they are involved in

I guess slivko will search for a team on one of the planets orbiting his bizeps now. it's always quite sad to see teams 'disband' but i'm honestly not that mutch into east european starcraft.

Currently Team Spectre has higher quality players than Vega and Cascade if I recall correctly. Should be seeing some results from them soon

I remember him from the first Valenica cup back in like 2011 where he did a 2-3 vs Supernova and he won the award by players choice for sickest nerdballar. Haven't seen much of him since then though :/
