The money comes from the promise of the technology: a fully realized competitive game that can compete with LoL and SC2 while being played inside a browser. It's a speculative investment in what could be the future of gaming. Furthermore, the people behind Artillery Games have connections, they used to be former Facebook employees or something. | ||

If it's good it could blow up to be enormous. It's not that weird to invest into a project like this. Browser based game too. | ||
