Many had looked to Jin Air to benefit from the all-kill format of the Round 1 Playoffs, but in the end it was SK Telecom T1 who scored the all-kill. SKT_PartinG, who had only recorded a modest 4-2 record (by his standards) in the regular season, exploded for an all-kill in his first appearance in the playoffs.
PartinG would live up to his reputation as a master of all-ins and micro. His famed Soul Train all-in with immortals and sentries took down Rogue, heavy 3-gate pressure punished sOs' fast expand, and a blink all-in allowed him to defeat Maru and complete his all-kill.
SK Telecom move on to face Samsung Galaxy on February 10th.
Samsung Galaxy VS SK Telecom T1
Starters: Stork < Frost > PartinG 2nd set: < Bel'Shir Vestige > 3rd set: < Star Station > 4th set: < Yeonsu > 5th set < Outboxer > 6th set: < The King Sejong Station > ACE: < Frost >
It's really silly if they count the matches in these mini-playoffs for the 'Most wins' award. Basically, it gives that those players more chances to get wins (in this case, Parting) than the players from teams who placed first or second. For example. TY on KT Rolster who has 7 wins and 0 losses, is stuck in the finals of the playoffs.
Now, I don't know how much the Most Wins award actually means (do they get some money or something for it??), but I think it's pretty unfair to the players on teams who actually did BETTER in the first place

As far as I know it's usually awarded to the player who had most wins in the regular season. I remember Flash & Fantasy in the last BW Proleague where Fantasy had the best overall season (15-2 I think) while Flash got most wins as he was 15-1 going into the play-offs, but then started losing a few times during the play-offs.
Despite this amazing AK by PartinG here, I'm pretty sure most people would agree that 7-0 is the most impressive record this round, especially considering TY faced pretty strong players.
Darn it, I was hoping to find a section with VODs and watch it and accidentally clicked this instead T_T. I miss the days these articles had at least a 1 day delay or had a spoiler tag at first.

Delaying these are tough when the next match is played in under 24 hours from the conclusion of the previous match. Sorry!
Watching PartinG play in this series I was reminded of how similar he is to Maru in playstyle. Both will at some point just make a bunch of units, hit a timing, and then dare you to out-micro them.
We saw Maru do this over and over to Protosses in Round 1, and now PartinG did the same in 3 of his 4 wins:
1) Perfect forcefields against Rogue (Rogue should have sniped the warp prism faster to deny him high ground vision since the MSC was already dead)
2) Superior micro against sOs--that one forcefield to contain sOs' army behind the nexus and the next to trap and snipe his second immortal effectively won him the game, while sOs couldn't micro his immortals back fast enough
3) The best was the Maru game, which I wish would have gone on longer because I really think they may have the best micro in the world. Maru microed those reapers so well for a while but as soon as they got trapped and he lost all of them, the game was effectively over.

well, what about naming the thread "[Spoiler] SKT vs JinAir Playoff Aftermath" or something like that.

i jsut saw the thread title in the left menu bar under featured news and under sc2 general.
dunno if it would have been spoilered when accessing it from the start page.
Yeah, I visit the home page about three times a year... My "go to" page for TL is the stream page and I use the side menus for navigating my way through. Luckily, I did watch the matches.
