Interesting. I suppose blizzard also owns all the IP for anything people make in the aracde? Nah, look at Dota. Blizzard let them have everything except the words 'Defense' of the 'Ancients'. Dota still uses a large amount of WC3 assets directly, especially text (item names, descriptions, effects, ability names, descriptions, effects, hero names, etc) and Blizzard doesn't give a shit.

I'm pretty sure Blizzard gives more than a shit, and tried to stop Dota 2 from ever launching the way it is.

This is true. The only part Blizzard was concerned with was protecting their IP and characters like "Sylvana windrunner". That's why you see so many name and model changes in dota 2. But blizzard doesn't really want that dota 2 money.

I am sure valve knew it was going to happen, since do many characters in dota looked similar WC3 characters when the game first launched in early beta. Blizzard just did what both sides needed, filed a law suit to clear up what would and would not be ok.

I think you guys have lived in the first world a bit too long. Take a trip. See the world. First world problem to realize not everyone can afford to travel as much as you.

Take a trip. See the world." Not that I disagree with your slight to them. $7k in 4 months is very very low income in the US but not low income outside the US.

From the Blizzard launcher When we first announced the Rock the Cabinet contest, we knew we’d get some amazing submissions, but we were not prepared. We're overwhelmed by the diversity and quality of the games we're seeing during our Arcade Night play-tests. As we’ve been sharing these entries around the office the excitement surrounding the contest has multiplied. Some of our creative teams have been so impressed they’ve offered their time to create new art and sound assets. In addition to the official prizes, we are thrilled to announce these new Rock on! Bonus Arcade Assets: Grand Prize Art created by the StarCraft II art team including: A custom loading screen A unique game icon for the Arcade browse screen A custom made portrait players will be able to unlock Audio created by the Blizzard sound team including: An original theme song An ambient track designed for your game Second & Third Place Art created by the StarCraft II art team including: A unique game icon for the Arcade browse screen A custom made portrait players will be able to unlock An ambient track designed for your game and composed by our Sound Department Fourth & Fifth Place A unique game icon for the Arcade browse screen Developers take heed -- these new assets are awaiting you at the finish line, so push hard! Polish up those games and deliver the best product you can. You have until May 31, 2014 to get your submission in. You can view the official rules here: http://us.blizzard.com/en-us/community/contests/sc2-arcade/rules.html Good luck! Pretty cool imo Mod should update the OP please. theirs also a list of 50 valid entries on the launcher that was released several hours ago, might be harder to copy over though
