I'm sure blizzard will gladly allow you to purchase it via their shop soon(tm). Meaning that you will find it around your favorite internet sites soon + 5 minutes.
@CYfiri: If they release it as one it should.

Will starbow work as a extension mod?

It looks like you might lose bonus pool on losses anymore. I just lost 3 games in a row and my bonus pool hasn't moved at all.
By this I mean when you used to lose they would use your bonus pool to reduce the number of points lost on a loss. It doesn't appear that way anymore.

It's a bit weird. They are selling this, marketing wise, like it's a way for people to create their own games, but everything in the arcade is still under the Starcraft 2 EULA, which clearly said everything is still a property of Blizzard. Because you know, they don't want another DotA to slip out of their hands.

There seems to be a lot of anectodal evidence that things are broken rather than just changed in an unfavourable way. For example, Blizzard has said (in the december leagues/ladders blog) that MMR decay should at most have the same impact as losing 6 or 7 games. But, I logged on and played a game on my SEA account after 3 or so months of inactivity. Previous league? Diamond. New placement after one match? Silver. So, its obvious the effect is more than a couple of games, and its unfair on a silver player to have to face diamond level mechanics. Worse still, it takes a lot longer to climb out of low leagues since you constantly play diamond/masters players throughout silver and gold, which is absurd Yup. Pretty good summary of the problem. Not really. Due to the player base drainage, more GM and master are now occupying diamonds and platinum because the ladder rank distribution no longer allow enough slots for upper levels. It is only natural for other leagues to get bumped down.

The free arcade thing can be such a boon. Designers make it and can play with their family and friends the next day and interest others in teaming up with them. It's launching into an already competitive gaming scene, but who knows.
It's a chance for Blizzard to sell many more copies of SC2 (and then another chance to get the expo too). Friends play arcades, try other arcades, hear about the ladder competition etc, and want their own copy. It's already installed, so 5 clicks away from laddering etc.

i have been waiting for the BW soundtrack, now i can turn music back on lol
as for the free arcade, its a start but i dont know if it will draw more users in to buy the game or play it.

Nothing in the Terms of Service stops "another DotA" situation from happening, Blizzard owns mods distributed on their service, made with their tools and using their assets played with SC2, if you want to make a carbon copy of a game you've made in SC2 you can unless you're going to call it "Starcraft Tower Defense" or some other trademarked term.

So the ladder is still retarded right?

Yep, but Blizzard acknowledged it and is supposedly working on it. Quote from a community manager from the battle.net forum: "We're looking into what's happening.
We'll have more information for you in a little while."
So it might still be long. (Source: http://us.battle.net/sc2/en/forum/topic/11354455348?page=2#38)
EDIT: If you mean "even with redistribution working", then I say we're better to wait and see. My gues is it will still be broken, but I'm trying to be optimistic anyway.

The bonus received for the “First Win of the Day” with each race has been increased from 25,000 to 100,000 experience points.
Did they overhaul the XP per level? or they just going to give away 2-4 games worth of xp everyday?
