No seeds meaning no byes for seeded players this tournament? You will still have top players at spots in the bracket as so they do not meet in early rounds correct?

No, the top players will have to play in the early rounds. Only 3000+ points requirement.

Why? Because in both tournaments seeded players have not shown up and "messed up" the brackets.

I'm sorry so what's the point of laddering if it doesn't base where we will be in the tournaments? I thought the whole point of these things was to promote people to play on the Eros client.

I can understand not giving top seeds byes, but you should at least seed players properly based on their ladder positions so that the best players play against each other in the final rounds, not the earlier ones

Well... Everyone who gets top 10 by the time the ladder resets was promised a trophy icon thing. So that's for motivation to play on Eros. Also, the top of the ladder doesn't change very much in two weeks, leading to the same people getting rewards throughout the whole event cup... Perhaps this part is not really a problem though. Also also, our current points system slightly favors those who mass games to get points, rather than who is the 'best' on ladder. Also also also, as Xiphias points out, those who have been earning placement rewards have not been showing up.

Maybe the better deal would be to seed next in line people if current seeds don't show up .

I think what's holding the game back is that you need third party software to find matches. There are arcade games which can save rankings and such, is there a reason this doesn't work for starbow? Yes I'm a complete noob when it comes to this.

Yeah, I am pretty sure the reason is these games that keep track of scores without third party software have to store the data locally on each individual's computer, making it easy to manipulate, and hard to track all data at once and display it as a ladder etc.

Matchmaking is the biggest reason, although the player base is too small right now to get enough benefit out of it.

These arcade maps only have one map. It is probably impossible to do this with a map pool and also have matchmaking.

I am not sure on what you mean but I give you a short description on what we imagine: Reaper bombs have a very short deronation time 3/4 seconds. The opposing player can now get out of the radius or choose to targetfire the bombs. Before we had like 10 detonation time and the opponent simply moved out of the radius. and when the bombs panded on buildings, sou couldnt do anything against the explosion.
EDIT: we want the bombs to have to be targetted. They are not auto-attackable.
