And sc2 is doing well recently with iem etc I guess there just ain't a lot of people find starbow fun enough to switch and stay when sc2 is doing well again Twitch chat tl thread reddit etc all shows more care for 2v2 than the starbow match. All starbow content is pretty downvoted quickly. Then the starbow reddit is pretty dead. Even this thread is mostly staying on main page just because maybe 6ish posters repeatedly discuss stuff and other bump by posting stream links | ||

I think you are right laertes, if you have fun playing it, PLAY IT!! The main problem here is that people want to play vs similar skilled opponents, that is often just not the case with a low playerbase... | ||

I analogize Starbow is what Project M is to the Smash community. A development project where players took matters into their own hands and developed a game on their design philosophy using the predecessor game(Melee) as a base. That sort of project started in 2008 and its gained tons of momentum. As long as Starbow players keep playing and Starbow developers keep at it, who knows where its going to end up. | ||

We have had little to no complain about the unit idle spread, which is why we have let it stay the way it is. We are actually not too happy with it though, even though you may be. We'd rather see units spread out as they move and not when they are standing still. Since most people seem happy with the idle spread we thought it was best to make a test-map with a new solution and not patch right away. More info about pathing: + Show Spoiler + With this pathing, if you a-move your army across the map, you will give your opponent a small, natural defenders advantage, which I like. Players will be rewarded for setting armies in tactical positions and microing larger groups of melee units. You also need to do your own splitting vs units such as banelings, since this will replace the idle spread if received well. VOD to show how new unit pathing may look like: Vultures: Vultures do not act the way they did in BW. We will probably never be able to replicate that 100% (and we may not want to either), but we feel this is a step in the right direction. VOD to show new vulture micro: Test-map To test new pathing and new vulture micro, go to arcade and type: "Sbow Pathfinding Test" Should be up on NA and EU at least. Please, test this yourself before giving feedback. Huge thanks to Decembersclam for adding this and making the testmap and also to Antez for most of the vulture micro engine! | ||
