There would be a danger that dark templar would become army units that are typically kept uncloaked though, only using cloak when it's necessary. That would reduce the flavor of the unit.
I think you're overstating the effect this would have. Do Siege Tanks have reduced flavor because they come out unsieged and move around the map unsieged and sometimes even fight unsieged?
I'd really like to see DTs become more standard and reward mechanical skill more. If not in SC2, then maybe in SB!

Or allow uncloaking to allow for hp regeneration (out of combat) and slightly higher movement speed?
They already have higher hp regeneration out of combat (shields) and generally speaking a visible dark templar will die immediately so I doubt it will increase teir survivability that much. Unless they become tough eniugh to become core army unuts over zealots.

I apologize to the mapmaker. I was really harsh on him and as it turns out I was entirely wrong about this map. For some reason I was under the impression that the map seperated the 2v2 into seperate 1v1´s.

As far as I know, Shield regeneration is the same as in BW, so it regenerates same out or in combat, and it is fairly slow, like Zerg regeneration. Or did I get this wrong?

I think you're correct. I thought it was still the SC2 values for some reason.

The shield regeneration is not 100% BW. Example: A single vulture used to be able to kill a probe in 2 shots, before shield regeneration kicks in as long as it did not change targets. So it kicks in sooner then it would in BW.
Sweet! So how does this work? Looks like it's an external program. What happens when it finds a match? Does it somehow make SC2 create a custom game and invite the other player? Does it automatically detect the winner?
Well the small tease might look better than first release since this is a design image and not the actual program. I will let you know as soon as I know more about release.

lets be honest, we probably wont get it today at all. A few pages back it was said there was a small outside chance we would get it today but they would rather make sure its working perfect first. Id rather it worked right instead of rushing it out too.
Hopefully we dont lose the abillity to interact through chat chanells whn using the ladder. I mean I wouldnt want it to be like ladder in SC2 works where you just click one button and play. Staying in channel finding opponets has its charm but imo a combination of both those systems would be the best.
If bringing up the ladder also connected you to a default general chat I would be happy. I dont want it to feel like a barren wasteland that is BNet 2.
Also sorry for nuking you guys with all these requests
EDIT: Regarding the ladder preview picture a few post above, I like it. It looks clean, efficient and has great visual style. What I dont like however is that it doesnt have anything Starcraft related to it. You should try incorporating a few hydra/marine/whatever pictures in there just so the program speaks for what it is. Right now the style might aswell be that of a program for drawing engineering schematics or some proffesional music recording software.

I agree though. I hope part of their implementation allows you to do your own matchmaking for ladder. Gives you a chance to play better/easier opponents depending on your wishes and keeps the community strong. Community is one of the best parts about Starbow and keeping it together should be a priority.
