I think the easiest way to do this would be an IRC channel, an IRC client is easy to include If they are making a third party program. Im not sure If you can connect to bnet chat without an official program like you could in older bnet games.
They gotta keep the community together though yeah, and finding your own opponents in chat is awesome.

As I understood it, you can find opponents both through the battlenet Starbow channel and the client (which also has chat).

If only SC2 let us name our lobbies in the arcade... I can't believe Blizzard removed such a useful feature.

Ladder has not been released yet. You'd see something in this thread that it was released and on reddit probably.

Don't you think that protoss society is a tad competitive like this? We have dragoons (high) and stalkers (dark), high templar and dark templar, archons (high) and dark archons. Next step: implement the dark obelisk (pylon) from the alpha. I think there was a void version of the carrier initially as well, which was called the tempest in alpha.

My unit design idea: two dark templar morph into a void walker, that'll quickly grow weary of being controlled and turn on the player, attacking units at will. (sooo gimmicky, but meh )

I would love a spellcaster (DT+HT Archon maybe?) that could turn any Protoss unit into its nerazim/khala counterpart.
Could also be a way to grant access to otherwise not reachable units (Carrier-->Tempest; Archon-->DA; zealot-->???; sentinel-->oracle...). Just for the funnsies, like make that spell consume the whole (purple) Archon when being used, so there is little competitive use, but yeah, just for fun!

Corsairs had the Gravitation beam that Phoenixes have in SC2, but it got removed. I guess they didn't want for Corsairs to have both of the abilities and they forgot to add dweb later.

I like the fact that Starbow is different from BW even tho I absolutely love BW. So that's why I suggested a different corsair/dark archon. I still think they could be made to work if there was a will behind it.

Lol thats a funny idea, could just make a dark templar "possess" another unit to create an alternate version of it. That'd add a whole new dimension to the game rofl. Imagine if there was a whole other race, dark protoss... could make for some interesting story mode missions ^^

I don't think dark templar are an evil version of high templar. They're a different tribe of protoss that believes in individuality instead of submission to some protoss energy force. It wouldn't make sense to have a spell to turn something into a dark alternate version.

Xiphias awarded me the honor of helping him test the matchmaking/ladder client. What a stand-up guy!! They are working hard on this and I hope they know how appreciative most of us are :D Client looks good, everything was functional; it's exactly like ICCUP with a client that you run out of game. I'm not even sure if I should be posting this but I know how many people are eagerly awaiting the ladder! Thanks again to the whole Starbow team, it's hard to imagine this falling through with so many great people behind the scenes!

P.S. I got to play (and lose) the first ever public game on Starbow ladder!!!!!!! :D Muahahahahaha.....
