Maybe we should give it more time to catch on before we ask them to add a new section to the site. That way the request will have more merit. A suggestion for whoever is in touch with the mods on this issue - maybe a good solution could be found by not trying to privilege Starbow over other SC2 mods. How about adding a generic "mod/UMS" field to the streaming page template that streamers could fill in as they pleased? We SB fans would have what we want in the ability to search for Starbow, and any other mod with a following would get the same benefit.
I think it's completely reasonable for TL to assume that SB has peaked and will die off again, even if we all hope that's not the case. But a generic solution for finding streams of SC2 mods would solve our problem without requiring any extra effort on TL's part when the next big mod comes along.

I think that we need to at least maintain awareness of starbow for the general starcraft community. This will ensure that whenever totalbiscuit next tells people that they should play starbow that they will know what to do (the "people are sheep" theory). Related to this is that there should be resources for new players to make starting with starbow more accessible, such as guides, ladders, launchers.
A ladder would also go a long way towards maintaining interest for the current batch of players.
I think it's a bit silly to just say that there should be tournaments and pro players streaming the game, because it's not yet in tgeir interest to do so. No pro worth his salt will play starbow over sc2 when he's qualified for wcs.

To be frank, I don't think it is good for TL to impose on their streamers to differentiate between Arcade and Ladder, what if you want to do a quick arcade game with your viewers during a long ladder session? Or you play a quick custom game? It's just tedious with nothing much to gain, imo.

That's strange, 21:26 it's usually prime time. Are you sure you are not in a new channel? (if the first one is full a second one is autocreated)

The starbow channel wasn't active when I checked yesterday morning for instance. Best bet is for after 6pm I guess.

I can't wait for a ladder system for this, is there an eta on that?
|
I don't think Starbow can grow much from here unless some big event makes everyone look at it again, we should all focus on retaining our player base, which is, sadly, undubitably dwindling each day
|
I think retaining the player base and growing over the long term is definitely possible but getting that website going is a big part of that. We're all looking forward to seeing it go live.
ETA for ladder is sometime in February as far as I know

Ladder would be more important that website imo.

I'm thinking of them as one in the same but I agree, ladder is very important!

I can't imagine that would be a problem, given that players play other games than what they've set their streams to all the time and there's no real issue with it. It would just give a player the ability to add a field that people could search for.

Why siege tank have a higher cooldown than broodwar ? It should be at 3.125 or something like that , actually , it's 4.53

I don't think mainstream casters (besides TB) or tournaments are taking advantage of the potential for this mod, especially from a viewership perspective . . . I have a hunch that thing is a golden egg that's being somewhat overlooked

granted i've only played a few TvZs, standart BW marine tank vessels doesnt feel as strong as in BW. vessels doing 120 dmg feel very weak, not killing a single lurker and once ultralisks are out you cant even take one third of their HP pool down (you would do over 50% dmg in BW). not saying anything is imbalanced obviously, but that particular strategy, that centered around vessels taking half of enemy HP and units out before the battle even started doesnt seem to work in starbow.i must say, i dont really see a point in getting vessels in tvz at all really, maybe just a few to irradiate zerg casters/mutas. nerv jammer is obviously not an answer to onrushing zerg with melee units. think either marine mech, pure mech obviously too, and marine INTO mech (like at the end of BW) should work better
or maybe im just doing something wrong

at least lately ive been seeing a lot more transitions to late-game mech/vessels and move away from mmf/vessels. Last few bw vods I saw showed this, I think that style wasn't as strong as the meta game developed even in BW. Don't get me wrong, it was very strong at first when you could out micro your opponent easily, but now that peoples micro is roughly the same level you have to add tanks/spider mines since they both work under dark swarm(mines do damage+splash while tanks do splash).

Does the ghost shock ability stop banelings from detonating?
|

I doubt it, and I think that ability is bugged and that it doesn't work on Lurkers or that was what I've seen on the stream. Lurkers are affected with the ability, but they shoot like nothing happened.
Someone should check this.
