If it is like predetermined 5 vs predetermined 5, it is slightly less interesting for me then last year. But if it is predetermined 4 vs predetermined 4 with 5th match being ace match, I feel it will be actually better for the viewers. Sure, I mean less matches are almost never good, but think about it - most complains about Proleague last year was that there was too much PvP. Now if there are only 4 predetermined players, while every team has to play T, Z and P - for sure there will be more matchup variability...? Also, higher possibility of better player meeting better player leading to epic matches. With a downside of not seeing too much rookies, probably. | ||

Last year we normally had matches lasting 4 to 5 hours, and it is bad for viewers in a long tournament. | ||

I am assuming it's same format as last year except Bo5 instead of Bo7, so 4 predetermined with an ace match if needed. Not sure I follow your argument as to why Bo5 is better than Bo7. What makes you think every team HAS TO play a P a T and a Z? Is this a Proleague rule I'm not aware of? | ||

It is a rule in SPL, that every team needs to play one Z, P and T in every match. And also what Taipoka mentioned above, while Proleague was seriously awesome and my favourite tournament, having playdays lasting 5-6 hours was pretty much standard and with 4 playdays every week, it was overwhelming at times. If it really is 4v4 + ace, I personally seriously think that it is better then before, at least for a viewer. Only downside is not so many chances for rookies. | ||

Cool, I didn't know that was an official "rule" as opposed to just something teams generally did. Then yeah, if that rule stays in place it does seem like we'll see more variety, which is nice. I wish they'd use a more balanced map pool though; as it is I still feel we'll very often see PvP on Yeonsu/BV, ZvZ on Star Station, etc. | ||

I don't watch his stream (if he streams) but Wolf's been a P player for a long time. Even if he's stopped playing actively, I doubt it'll affect his casting in any way. | ||

Old bo5 format was not pre-revealed/determined, no ace | ||
