Episode 3 Garnet Count from preview Former Congressman-- 6 Yellow-- 5 Boxer--5 Hacker--2 Noh-- 2 Go player-- 6 Magician--6 Eun Ji Won --4 Lawyer -- 3 I can't really see Sangmin and the announcer lady's number.
Here are the numbers at the end of episode 2 Hacker : 1 (he never won anything), so he all in Noh Former Congressman: 2 (he won the first game)-- has 6 in the preview, so yellow gave him one and he doubled up on Noh. His tag didn't register Yellow's Garnet Go Player: 4 (She won the first game) so she got 2 garnets from yellow, then bid 2 on Noh Eun Ji Won: 2 (he won the first game) all in on Noh No Hong Chul: 1 (didn't win anything) won elimination and got to 2 by episode 3 Sangmin 2 (won the first game) Magician 3 (got 2 from Yellow) all in on Noh Yellow 6 (won first game, second game. Should have 12. Gave 2 to magician 2 on Go Player, 2 to Announcer lady, 2 to Boxer (though it didn't register on the tag), gave 1 to congressman (didn't register). That leaves yellow with 3 and he bid 2 to get 5. Lol yellow, giving out those garnet in 2's. Announcer Lady 3: (got 2 from yellow) Boxer 1 (though he bid 2 on Noh and has 5 in the preview, so he got a couple from yellow. Lawyer 2 (won first elimination match) bid one on Noh
At least, this is what I think happened.
So yeah, everyone did indeed bid on Noh, though I can't confirm the announcer lady did. There was a clip showing Sangmin bid on Noh
As we see in season 1, players tend to pick those who they have beef with as the game goes on. So far, this hasn't happened in season 2.
1st episode: Knocked out the teacher because his IQ is too damn high and can't let him survive for long 2nd episode: Knocked out the Rainbow member because Hongchul wanted to face someone he can beat
We'll see more situations in the future when the players pick others for death match due to grudge/avoiding allies. So far, however, garnet targetting is a possibility and they might be going for those if they are given a chance.
YellOw giving away garnets today meant two things: avoiding that situation but also forming allies and earning trust from other players. He knows how to survive the early stages of the game, but let's see if the game continues according to his plan.
Allies in the genius season 2 are overrated. They change depending on the game, and force you to get new allies. In the end, it's all about just allying to benefit yourself. And Yellow is the strongest power currently. Which is why people are currently flocking to him. To survive. But if they could, they would betray him in a scond.
allies are overrated since the games are more rule/role bound (though the players make plenty of metagame choices) and the death matches can be deceiving as to whether allies help or not.
I guess hongchul knew most of the people's choices this death match but if hongchul had to start the betting on the odd rounds he couldn't have all inned on his biggest allies (in the death match) with the magician round 3 and yellow round 5, but the coin flip went in his favor. I don't know if he really would have all inned on other players even if they told him since he could fear losing everything.
similarly at the finale season 1 when yellow won the other person (kyungram? [sp.]) had supports and allies, just yellow's allies did a lot better. Death match 1 in season 2 worked out similarly, like it was -1 or -2 different in the sum if I remember (10 9 8 7 vs 10 9 8 6), which mainly is luck at that point.
things like the indian poker and memory game stuff was more individual.
interesting RPS match LOL i'm seriously considering that it it were me as junseok i might have tried scissors (or even paper) despite telling him rock.
it's a gamble, but wouldn't it be more likely he would feed the fem. player who gave him the garnet? it's a slim chance, but you might at least have a second go.
Seems like they are going for games this season where it is pointless to form teams before the game starts, as both main games so far "hardwire" allies to a certain extent
Sangmin has always been and will always be the most interesting player in the series. I think the game will lose its glamour the moment he leaves. Similar thing happened with the first season + Show Spoiler +
when he forgot a tile he had previously opened, but there were Jinho and Kyungran (my waifu <33) in the final
Heard there were people staking out the TV station during the filming schedule and inferring the possibly eliminated players when they did not see certain people turn up. There are indeed some hardcore fans around.
I think Yellow has proven this season that he's become a better team player/leader. In season 1 his best moments were all individual (and possibly his worst moments were all from teaming up).
I think this season all of the games have been too team oriented and immunity is getting dished out too easily. As I recall from last season, the only episode where multiple (>2) people received immunity was the Zombie Game and it required a tremendous effort in order to obtain that result.

I think its the show's way of forcing interaction to generate material for later episodes, they're using the early episodes to have every player interact with every other player either as a team or against each other, that way no matter who makes it to the end they'll have material to flash back to to show how they interacted previously.
