There's a reason why people like having LoL in a client like this

Do people really like LoL client UI?

I think no one has played this terrible game here, so we don't know what you are talking about.

Finally got invited to beta for this and I'm not impressed.

There is no friends list so you still need to launch the games to chat / check whose online and the games list can't be customized so every game will always be visible in a stupid Blizzard decided order.

The only upside is that you log in once and stay connected so you don't have to retype your password every time you switch games or launch a game.

Well, 3-4 games really doesn't need a giant client like this. Or maybe Blizzard is trying to widen their product lineup.

Well, Heartstone, Allstars, project titan. Those are 3 more.

Also, the launcher provides instant advertisement for all of their games to people already using at least 1 Blizzard game. It's a great way to raise the awareness of their other games.

I personally would love to be able to join game chat channels and inclusion of the editor to the combined login process. AfaIk, those aspects aren't in the launcher. But it's not a problem if that won't be added, but uploading files to bnet while staying in sc2 would be awesome. Atm, this only works with different accounts or being logged into different regions.

I think there was just another invite wave since lots of ppl are using the beta desktop client feedback forums. I just got in myself. Check your trash/spam folders

Not having to type passw/authent code is a blessing.

Just hope it doesn't turn into an origin type application. So far it does run very smooth.

Next steps friend list and then some e-sports tab with lots of updates?

With popup toasts for tournaments you've selected to track with the link to the stream? Bring it on!

They definitely could add a lot of functionality to the client. At the top could be a streams(possibly with live chat interface), something akin to the TL calendar(events, mouseover for info, click to reveal streams or something like that),

Just have to find a way to add it without getting rid of the rather clean look they have going right now.

I think this is a good direction for Blizzard. It allows them greater flexibility to add cool things to the client and make all of their games feel more unified. It might even help some WoW and D3 players get into SC2 if the starter edition download is only a couple of clicks away. There is so much potential for this new client I just hope Blizz doesn't screw it up.

As someone who only plays sc2, this isn't very useful. At least it starts up faster than the game does which is nice.

It'd be way more useful if I could chat with friends in game.

As far as I know a chat feature is going to be added.

One thing that really sucks is changing region requires restarting the game... And switching accounts is an even bigger arse...

The client looks nice and it's cool that I can launch all Blizz games from it (if I wanted) but aside from that it adds very little and makes using multiple accounts a hassle. For it to actually benefit people using it for just sc2 it needs a flash plugin (or something) allow you to use it as a gateway app for twitch so you can watch WCS etc without having to open a browser tab and it needs offline chat for friends and channels.

This is what I was thinking. I know the new "Titan" IP will be coming out in the distant future, and Hearthstone should be coming out this year (?). So that's 5 games. I don't really think 5 games really warrants having their own platform hub.

Regardless, new stuff so yay!

I think Hearthstone is the big one that will use this client and it makes sense to merge everything else in with it. If only they let me link it to my steam friends list. I am only with Blizzard having its own client, but pulling friends from other systems would be the most helpful think they could do.

The fact I just click the client then hit play to get into sc2 is all the reason I need to use this, I would complain about features that could/should be here but it's actually so much more convenient that I no longer care.
