I know you make your own beats and by all means that's fantastic!! But don't feel ashamed or lesser if you use a professional, already established instrumental from other rappers. I'm going to spend more time on my lyrics for round 2 and my producer and I are about to serve you with this beat we worked on for this StarCraft rap battle. This time I got my own beat!!! Just a friendly message from a rapper to a beginning rapper... This is what I would say to any friend of mine that recently started rapping (And I influenced many people to start rapping like my neighbor who has been rapping for 2 years now. He got really good!)... Let me tell you my rapping experience: I have been rapping for almost 3 years now. When I first started it was an obsession, I was having so much fun rapping that for the first 6 months of me rapping all I could do is freestyle all day long (During my 3 hour breaks in between classes). My schedule worked out that way lol. Yeah, I started rapping with freestyling, which some might say is harder than writing raps. Well, your freestyling helps your writing, but it's your flow and delivery, the actual rapping part that becomes WAY BETTER from freestyling. You will get to the point where you can just freestyle about anything you want and not have to stop. In the beginning writing is very important because your writing helps your freestyling, so write write write! When I first started I opened up a thesaurus looked up synonyms for cool words like "Death" and wrote the cool synonyms like "Assasination" "Annihalation" or "Termination" on a sheet of paper and started thinking of what rhymes with those words. When I found good things that rhyme with those words I wrote them down. Once I had a full sheet of paper filled with cool new rhymes I began to freestyle and end with the rhymes I wrote down, coming up with the sentences on the spot, this really helps. When I rapped that much for the first 6 months of rapping I could see that I "reached a new level" about every 2 weeks. Improvement is rapid in the beginning. The most fun is when you reach the level where you can freestyle and you have a huge word bank off the top of your head. So as a conclusion: If you want to improve your flow and delivery, start freestyling! Just give it a try and don't give up! Your freestyling will improve your writing and your writing will improve your freestyling. Use a thesaurus and look up synonyms to enhance your vocabulary. I got a little cocky with "Noob Annihalation" and wrote the lyrics in less than 20 minutes because I thought I could easily own you because I'm good at rapping. But that seems to not be the case! Lyrics are what count and that's the way it should be! My lyrics were still cool though. These rap battles are all for fun. I'm doing it for fun just like you, WOPR, and Haze. It is very cool to be rapping with a guy from Sweden, and if these are your first raps, well then that's amazing. Keep going and don't stop!!! WOPR might not have the best microphone right now but he sure is on top with the flow and delivery, and I would even say lyrics although some might disagree. But flow and delivery for sure! Take my tips and that might give you the edge against WOPR, good luck my Swedish friend!!! | ||

Just like bacon said, its gotta start from fun and enjoyment cause it wont go anywhere anytime soon without that at all. You definitely have a strong vocab and honestly, thats the hardest thing to acquire when trying to do music. so your more then half way there. Flow and delivery comes only from a lot of practice, listening to some good rappers and rapping their words along with them helps in understanding how the syllables fit with the beat. i started with learning Eminem songs then downloading some instrumentals of those songs and try to replicate it. that way u see how things fit. Along with flow is this things called "delivery". at least from what i understand it is.. its the raw emotion/expression/feeling u convey as u say those words. its the same as when ur mad, ur voice changes to a different sound. and in my case at least, i find it easier to delivery correctly when i truly believe in my words and emotions. after that then u find ur own style and flow, soon ull see that u can word play and make words rhyme that technically shouldnt at all, its all on how u pronounce it. like a said, ur def miles ahead from when i started cause u made urself public where as i kept it underground (too myself). thats also another stage in ur development that u seem not to have any issues at all with. take the feedbacks, advice and constructive criticism as gold cause u cant rly be ur own critic lol, it never works. keep at it Greenman, cant wait for your response <3 | ||

Bacon, my next track (vs WOPR) I will make over an established track (either one of those free online or a known song). And I agree when you say that the beat is too soft, I'm gonna try to steal some beats from bigger rap names and alter them a little to my style in the future. WOPR haha I may need some months/years until I deliver the lyrics as good as you, and you really have your own style. I'm sure I will find my style with time aswell. Until then you'll get everything from Dub Step to pure rap! | ||
