I have a suggestion to Blizzard:
Bring back the Lockdown ability for ghosts (from Broodwar) and tweak it to become relevant - most importantly, affect all units. This way, it won't only be fungals and force fields to be angry at; people would also be able to be angry at terran, and the terrans would be able to enjoy locking down stuff. Disabling is here to stay in RTS, but if one race only faces disabling and doesn't use it, they get mad.
How Lockdown helps? It can lock a bunch of infestors, it can lock a bunch of brood lords. This is still just a rough idea, and needs tweaking (eg: perhaps should not be able to lockdown a mothership), but the general idea is: give Terran some powerful disabling spell like fungal and force field.
People cry about disabling, I say: the solution is more disabling.

"Hey folks Fungal Growth is OP because it's this large AoE root thing that deals damage and kinda fucks everything up because it only does everything and stuff. So, uh, how about it just not affecting some units at all? That'll fix things, right?"
*time passes*
"Hello again people turns out that change was retarded and didn't work (who would've thought), so we're reducing the HP of Infested Terran eggs by 20 because this totally fixes how spammable they are and how the eggs don't have any target priority so your army will still murder and rolfstomp that zergling traipsing around there and not the army of doom waiting to hatch. On top of it all, the eggs just may regenerate so Protoss' Storms may not even kill them but we didn't think of this at all. We reiterate that there are no win percentage problems with Zerg because we live in fairy tale land. How's this?"
*tumbleweeds*

This. SO. MUCH. THIS. If we want to play a good RTS in the future, Starcraft 2 NEEDS TO DIE. It has such a stranglehold currently that most companies probably won't even bother. And at any rate Blizzard needs to be sent a signal that no, their products frankly aren't good at all. You do that by leaving the Heart of the Swarm box on the shelf.

thanks me i didn't pre order hots. With that kind of attitude from the developer (patching eggs) i have no wish to play except for pirated single version.
|
what if they gave the siege tanks back their BW damage? maybe you'd so more mech vs protoss then and better vs the eggs+infestor
|
I agree with you who said you might quit
I might quit this game, Forever even. This is not how a strategy game should be like, its...embarassing tbh

If anything, Starcraft 2 needs to succeed. Why would any developer who isn't retarded see the sequel to the most beloved competitive RTS series ever fail and think 'wow, that's a genre that we should make an E-sports game for'?
Starcraft 2 needs to be successful for another few years, perhaps naturally decline or peak, and at that point a developer would be pretty sensible to try and make a game for the same market.

Even zergs say zerg is imba...

This patch is a joke. The one before was great (maybe the fungals should still hit warp prims and DTs) and would bring the balance back, I think. Especially because ghosts and HTs would be the counter to infestors.
But blizzard just loves zerg. And hates terran.

Not bad at all for me as toss player! :D

Yeah honestly Blizzard, you're going to approach balance changes with testing? That's ridiculous. I'm going to write *such* an angry forum post.

I hope riot decides to make an RTS like sc2, that would be so epic!

One infestor costs 100/150 and 2 of PSI
nobody else noticed something its wrong about that?
its should costs at least 200/200 and at least 3 of supply, damn its the powerful spellcaster of the game and its cheap as hell
this would be even a better change than that useless eggs nerf

Someone with a little time on their hands should really check up on what the race distribution on ALL major tournaments from like the round of 16 or something are for the last couple of months. It just feels like Blizzard can't have their statistics right. Would just be fun to see what numbers they consider balanced at the very top level.

Hm... Do I hope for a firm that has managed to make a worse game out of a cool WC3 funmap?

Am I the only one missing the most obvious balance fix?
Remove Pathogen Glands.
Voila!
It's now much harder to go straight into Infestor without going Muta or Roach first without dying but they still have the same final end game impact as before.

Blizzard got slaughtered by the SC community, especially on TL for patching too frequently, and nerfing Terran too much.
Now when Blizzard, whose representatives have said on numerous occasions that they don't want to patch as much, but let us figure it out, the community is bitching that they AREN'T patching.
If Blizzard come out and say, 'Infestor is fine, no changes' by all means go and flame them. However they've said that they view the infestor as an issue, and they're trying to address it.
It's got nothing to do with being anti-Terran, pro-Zerg or anything, it's a manifestation of a change in patching philosophy.
