Some games will be bigger than others, drastically bigger. But that doesn't mean other games won't exist. Look at pro sports. NFL dwarfs anything else in the United states. Yet there are still other sports doing well. And right now, these sales companies are coming in and spending on sc2, while Riot is the one completely funding LoL and Valve is pushing Dota 2. SC2 has more independent sponsors than both. To suggest that its dying is ridiculous. SC2 is standing on its own a hell of a lot more than LoL and Dota 2. Was it not just a month ago when the WCS EU had 100k concurrent viewers?

This is just more BW elitism. Although BW's issues (well obviously, made in 1998) are quite apparent to people who didn't play it in it's prime, you can't simply call a game better because it handles well. Indeed SC2 handles tremendously well, but it's too bad for most of the games existence that there has been bitching about everything from no LAN to Balance. To this day I feel i'm getting no reward out of playing because I play Zerg concurrently, and a game where I beat a better player and it means nothing, or lose to a worse player and get discouraged is not good. I'd rather have a competitive, balanced game that is fun too than an easy to use average game any day. Although going back to playing Brood War it does hurt my hands just to play and most current gamers wouldn't appreciate that and that's understandable haha. It's too bad the majority doesn't feel the same way considering the success of League of Legends (although I haven't actually PLAYED it before, all I know is i'm told it's easy to use control-wise and the 'easiest' Moba). + Show Spoiler + Also can't help but feel you are just flame baiting, especially since you said 'batter'

Yea, for sure. In interviews, I've seen Puppey and many other players continuously praise valve for listening to player input as well as being fans of the game. On the other hand, I've never seen players give anything but complaints when talking about David Kim/Browder. To be honest, I've had this in my head for awhile as the new, real elephant in the room. Glad a post like this was made, and hope it doesn't disappear uneventfully.

I, along with around 22 of my friends in highschool purchased SC2 two years ago at release. However, over the course of 4 months 19 of those friends LEFT for League of Legends. Now they play League and DOTA2. It has been very disappointing to me to see all my friends leave, and never give the game a second chance. However, after asking many of them why they left, the answer is always the same. At first, they scoot around it, but as I press them they end up confessing that the game just was NOT interesting. That StarCraft 2 is not accessible. We have, (many of us) held this opinion since the game came out. It has been restated again and again. As much as I prefer to avoid it, (I think we all do, not b/c we do not care, but because we have given up) it needs to be addressed. Here's an idea that I had. TO CATZ: I have heard rumours that there is a secret pro-only forum for SC2. Would you not consider getting as many of your buddies as you can to write letters of complaints similiar to Destiny's and posting them there? Just mass posting them? If this is not true then whatever. Your twitter idea is good too... To any major tournaments....would you not consider getting viewers to trend tweets calling for improving the game? This is a big issue.

And according to Blizzard, this is "what the map makers want" Well, someone has to make the maps. And unlike 5-10 years ago, SC2 needs to compete with the multitudes of other game development platforms out there for the developer's interests. Custom maps are a relic of the brood war era that you can't recreate in this day and age as is. Relatively easy monetary incentive the only big win that Blizzard can make for their system versus the others.

It's like how fast food joints are way more popular than steakhouses. That doesn't mean steakhouses should be more like fast food joints.

Most people played BW for UMS. That was it's success for casual gamers. SC2 has nothing for casual gamers. The arcade system is complete garbage. Never once since sc2 was released have custom games made any impact. The game is solely about 1v1 and ladder, which doesn't appeal to casual gamers.
