I realize that esports scene around SC2 is getting serious and such but its still just game played by young almost adults (in most of the cases) who just wanna have fun sometimes. Just huge hype around nothing. Same could be said about any actual sport, I don't understand the demographic argument, people do realize that it's not a mark of maturity to defend stephano and rage at EG right? It's with in EG's rights as a private company to do what they want with in the contractual means, just as Stephano is free to choose which ever team he wants to go to in a competitive market, this isn't you talking with Stephano in a private environment and you giving your opinion on whether or not you would be personally offended by a joke.

You want SC2 to be taken seriously and to "grow esports" then you shun any degree of professionalism the next day simply because your favorite insert player / team is being affected. I can't number the times that a professional athlete / team / manager and even secondary staff and coaches have been scrutinized and penalized from leagues, pay rolls, or team contracts due to badly phrased public statements or private statements that were subsequently leaked due to stupidity. And no it doesn't matter what country you are in, it's going to happen if there is any degree of professionalism or sponsorship behind it. The sc2 community is made of XXXXX persons having their own opinions and values, there is no intellectual orthodoxy as far as I know. I, for example, couldn't care less about sc2 being taken "seriously" lol.

Wherever big business is involved you'll see that a certain social conduct is expected. I dont think Stephano is a bad person for making a bad joke. But lets say this was something a big sportstar said, you might very well have had the front page of your national newspaper read "X sportstar admits to sexual abuse of underage teenager" the next morning. That may not be true, that may be twisting the words of that said star and that may be leaving some information out on purpose. Still, thats how publicity and the media works. Now Esports is smaller than that, but i'd say the sponsors still has the same thought process. Thats not the kind of attention they want.

I really don't want people to get fucked by people messaging sponsors when it is completely unnecessary. I have to wonder, would it be better if we messaged sponsors every time someone said something immature or something bad happened, or if it would be better to not bother them with utter nonsense such as this. Do sponsors want to join a community where everyone runs around acting like a 14 year old brat? NOPE. Do sponsors want to join a community where every time something remotely bad happens they're getting messaged? ALSO NOPE. So what's the solution? I dunno, but it isn't to message sponsors every time an immature 20 year old acts like an immature 20 year old!! K NEED TO COOL DOWN NOW.

Well. All that great gaming gear and technology that backs this whole operation are run by some of the largest professional conglomerates. Isn't a professional gamer a professional? I don't see any argument that questions the legitimacy of EG's contract with Stephano, or that this decision penalizes or breaches workers rights / disadvantages him unfairly. So as far as I'm concerned it's completely justified, I don't have to like something to know that it is lawful and professional.

Stephano can, according to law, be convicted as a sexual offender. This is a big deal everywhere, or do you live somewhere were it is commonplace?

Personally over here leagal age is 16, but yeah 14 is definitely legal in some places and not all that terrible that people make it out to be.
