ahh thats a shame.

to be honest i assumed it was a joke all along during blings stream, and im not gonna lie i thought it was hilarious watching blings face.

i think the decision from EG to send him to korea for training whilst he serves his punishment was clever and effective aswell.

Millenium would never do that because they would laugh at anyone who got a problem with it and they don't give a shit about the latest drama on Reddit

Also, Millenium is a small-time team that pays players peanuts and has nothing to lose or gain by caring about public opinion.

It's easy to pretend you don't care what other people think when no one gives a shit what you do or think.

You know nothing about Millenium. Its not a small time team they got the biggest esport site in Frence and got more money then most teams in the scene. They just wouldn't care about the latest drama like any intelligent person should unless of course you a woman that loves soap opera

Biggest esport site in France? Like I said, small-time. No one cares what a French team does.

Is the SC2 community schizophrenic? You want SC2 to be taken seriously and to "grow esports" then you shun any degree of professionalism the next day simply because your favorite insert player / team is being affected. I can't number the times that a professional athlete / team / manager and even secondary staff and coaches have been scrutinized and penalized from leagues, pay rolls, or team contracts due to badly phrased public statements or private statements that were subsequently leaked due to stupidity. And no it doesn't matter what country you are in, it's going to happen if there is any degree of professionalism or sponsorship behind it.

I strongly suggest you not to go to any government buildings, nor airports.

I don't know what country you from but in Denmark you can actually say whatever you want wherever you want. Its called freedom of speech and yes I know some countries think its fine to break those basic human rights laws in form of scare tactics but thank god I'm not born in one of those police stats

WORD!

When he says abusing, you can clearly get he is joking about what happened or did not happen. Why? because you just don't use abuse in such a way in English especially in casual conversation.

Haha, he made a joke, while forgetting it might be streamed. That's all. Just some words type while forgetting a camera is rolling.

Prude Americans see 'abuse / 14 year old' and jump on their high horses right away, love it. There are so many better ways to work such a simple situation like this out.

if you want to have good sponsors, some things will be changing. one of them is that immature kids cant act like immature kids.

The market is young adults. The players are young adults. Young adults make jokes. Please don't lose any sleep over this, because there is lots of money in the game already. There could always be more money, but you can't go up to Google with a sponsorship proposal and your only point of sale be "yeah we have this guy who plays a video game AND we don't let him say random things on battle.net!" and instantly grow the scene.

The amount of discussions like these about SC2 personalities is beginning to parallel the media's fixation on the meaningless drama behind what the latest athlete said under his breath. You're being sold a controversy that doesn't really exist. He said this on battle.net, nobody would have noticed or cared, except SRS doesn't have hobbies besides personal vendettas against people in esports. Esports is a big place. There is professionalism in casting and in tournaments (where exposure happens), and that's good. There's freedom on the internet (where this entire scene came from), and that's also good. The latter shouldn't actually affect the former if you just filter all SRS emails to your spam folder.

EG says he has been punished but paying him a ticket to Korea to train? That's an investment for the future whilst the previous plan would cost EG more money due to hotels + flights across europe, make stephano exhausted and weaken his long term skill.

well partly. he optimal market would be people with money which doesnt perfectly overlap with the young adult crowd. esports exanding depends on reaching beyond

Thats way over the top from EG and also making him write such an apology... well, I don't really think he means it and I don't think he should feel that bad. It can happen, cutting his money and him out of tournaments - thats not up to EG nor the community to decide.

What are we? Police, law? Will we be kicking and banning players for drinking when underage? For smoking weed? As much as I usually like EG, I feel that is over the top and nothing less but stupid.

Honestly.. you can take the words in the worst possible way and push for a suspesion/trial/death-penalty for Stephano. Or you could take a step back and think.

Have you never ever ever after completely running someone over on the ladder or in a CW joked with your friends that you "fucked that guy/kid/asshole good"? Well in this case, the player that was ran over was a known 14yo GM player.

He realized the implications and joked to his friend (in what he thought was a private conversation as he clearly didn't realize Bling was streaming) even more.

Was it tasteless? YES!
Was it stupid? YES!
Should Stephano be suspended (and consequently neutered to save those precious children)? NO!

Can't believe how many times rape has been thrown around in this thread. It's not rape if she wants it. I don't think Stephano said he forced himself on her. Nope. Not rape.

My opinion on whether or not it's a good or bad thing shouldn't matter, people don't seem to understand that if you want to quote grow esports unquote you have to expect things like this. The linkage isn't "only boring stuck ups who make a big deal out of nothing" are capable of sponsoring and growing a sport, it's that immature and unprofessional athletes / players don't help give your sport any legitimacy.

it was just joke on /b/ or reddit basis. I think this was huge overextention by EG who takes it too seriously. I realize that esports scene around SC2 is getting serious and such but its still just game played by young almost adults (in most of the cases) who just wanna have fun sometimes. Just huge hype around nothing.
